i've been stressing over my son's bar mitzvah luncheon -- decided on using photos of him thru the years i will put table numbers on the photo and display them on a black easel holder. but now how to coordinate the placecards - do i need to coordinate them? was thinking of buying tiny black easels and displaying simple place cards on them to keep the theme - what do u think?

I don't think they need to be the same. I understand a theme but sometimes if everything is matchy matchy it is overkill. I think I would maybe just color coordinate the place cards.

For my sister we found one photo for every year and instead of numbering the tables, they were labeled by year.

I think we just used standard place cards and had guests names and the year of the table caligraphied on them.

They came out great and we still have them in the basement of my parents house (almost 15 years later!)

Your coordination is the coloring. If you back them on black than do all the pic that way. Another thing you can do is scan the pics into your computer and make them black and white, and then back them on different color paper for the different tables. The black and white photos would be the coordinating theme.

You can also find pic holders that are clips on a block. More sleek look.
