Ideas for pampering DH while on board?

I want to give DH a special treat while we are on board the Magic at the end of January. He really does deserve it! Just not sure what to do.

I was thinking about buying a shipboard credit and having the card say "Good for one massage". But, that seems boring. Then, there's always the surial bath, but he might be uncomfortable with that. However, I can't think of anything else.

Does anyone else have any ideas for pampering a wonderful DH? He's not a big food guy (too many allergies), so Palo would be more of a treat for me than him. :o

Thanks in advance!

as far as i'm concerned the whole cruise is a major form of pampering....i can't really think of anything to improve on it...
the only thing i did was have gifts waiting for everyone in our stateroom when we came onboard....one for each of my kids and one for my husband....
to be honest, i can't remember what i got for my husband, but all of them were so surprised and happy to have something waiting for them....so maybe that would be a nice surprise....

Do the massage, it will be an extra special treat for him. I went to the spa twice and loved the extra pampering. Especially if he does not get them often. Make sure you are signing him up for the right thing. My sister thought she was getting a $100 package and ended up with the $180 one. She said the sea weed wrap was not worth the extra money.

Oh yeah, did you let them know in advance of his food allergies? Disney is wonderful about having special meals prepared to accomodate all kind of needs as long as you let them know in advance.

This is a Disney forum..............but I think you get my drift.

As a guy who loves going on the DCL here's my advice .... let him do what he wants to do! If that is nothing then so be it.

My DW loves massages and I want her to get one but I can do without it. Me I just want to sit on the deck and chill out.

Thanks for all the replies. :)

Brack - I think you are right. That's all he keeps telling me - he wants to do nothing, but me being me, I feel like I have to do something.

Nick@ VB+OKW - You made me blush. :o But, you are right as well. Or, so DH keeps telling me. ;)

Axsimpson - We have let them know, so hopefully we won't have any problems. And, I'll read the fine print carefully!

Disneyholic family - Thanks for the gift idea. I might try that. I'll have to look through my little brochure to see what they have. I was so focused on getting DD a gift, I didn't think about DH.

Thanks again!

I personally could care less about massages. DW bought me a massage gift certificate once and she ended up using it.
What about a special excursion or part to the trip that he would really enjoy?

this suggestion isn't quite in the league with the non-disney suggestions made before this...
and this may sound stupid....
but my husband was so.....what's the word.....like a kid in a candy store with all the food available on the ship....
every time one of us brought him something, like fries or a chocolate chip cookie, he was in seventh heaven....
granted he could have gone to get them himself....which in fact he did.....often......but when one of us went out of our way to bring him something, he was just thrilled to pieces...
sounds like we starve him at home, but this is one of the things that made the cruise for him.....
(i should add that he's 6' 7" tall and quite thin and eats non-stop through the day....even at home.....but not the stuff he had on the ship.....i'm sure he's been drooling ever since i announced that i'd made reservations for this coming summer....)

Also considering doing all of the packing / unpacking - before -
onboard and after. That's a chore no man wants to do.

I posted something like this here too...
I guess I'm gonna have to let him do what he wants...which is ok...but I know -no sooner will we get on the ship...he'll be off and running...he's so silly...

I vote to either do the surial bath with him, as you obviously do, *wink, wink* OR else send him on a deep sea fishing boat...:)

How about having Shirley make a special gift basket waiting for him upon arrival? Maybe a bottle of wine with some other stuff. I'm sure Shirley could give you some ideas if you don't already have some of your own.

Have fun! :wave2:
