Hey Everyone,
DH and I will be celebrating our 10th anniversary at the end of November/beginning of December WITHOUT the babies!!

Our last trip was so centered around the children that I am a bit clueless about things to do for adults. We would like it to be really laid back (ie. not too many things on the 'to-do list'). Does anyone have suggestions about what adults can do on a laid back Disney vacation?

Thanks in advance,
M :)

I am doing my first romantic trip a few days. Two of things we are doing is going to Jellyrolls one night on the Boardwalk, it is 21 and over only paino bar. Also we're doing a carriage ride at our resort (POR).

Treat yourself to a romantic dinner out and then stroll World Showcase! We like Bistro de Paris (2nd floor of France).

Watch fireworks from the beach at the Polynesian. (no, you don't have to be staying there)

Carriage ride around POR is another good one....a splurge, but worth it, per some friends that did it the night of their WDW Wedding.

Walk around DTD and meander to Adventurer's Club....It's good, clean, Disney adult humor, and very entertaining.

Stay for Extra Magic Hours in the Parks and be kids yourselves!

Make sure you hit the Osbourne Christmas Lights in MGM....try to be there when they hit the switch for the evening. It's breathtaking.

There are Lots of things for "just adults" to do. Enjoy it!

My dh and me go every year for our anniversary present to ourselves. We have been married 33 years and we look forward to our trip every February. We save DW for us but we take the grandkids to DL as they turn four years old. As a matter of fact we will be taking 2 of them this December. I am so lucky! FInally I will get to see a park at Christmas time. YEAH! Some of the things we do at DW are:
*Eat at really nice resturants-leisurely
*take evening boat rides just to watch the stars and the people of course
*ride the childrens rides just for fun LOL
*see a show like La Nouba
*look for hidden mickeys
*get our pictures taken with characters (for the grandkids ofcourse LOL)
*carriage rides are great
Just go and have a great time. It might take you 30 seconds to get used to being without the babies but you will adjust. LOL

I ordered flowers from the Disney flower shop delivered to our room before we arrived a few annys ago. It made for a great little surprise and the vase has been a real special keepsake.

KIMIS has some great ideas. Also try slowing down & just watching what happens.

MK mainstreet has a lot of performances that are not in the guide. The Studios has something happening all over the place. Their mainstreet & Hollywood BLVD have a lot of performances.

Epcot has loads of performances. See the World showcase players - especially in the UK. Watch the girl in Japan make figures from candy. The Chinese acrobats are amazing. Have you ever seen the waiter in France?? Very funny. Without kids you have a chance to just hang out & watch as things happen. Its amazing how much just happens in the various parks.

I know some are repeats, but I'll throw my .02 in:

  • carriage ride POR, WL or CW
  • La Nouba
  • Stroll through DTD at night
  • Stroll the boardwalk at night
  • Grab a snack and people watch (our faves are funnel cakes in World Showcase & Mickey bar ice creams along the path from Fantasy Land to Liberty Square
  • Wander through one of the parks during evening EMH. If you don't mind staying late, you will sometimes feel you have the entire place to yourself. And in December, the holiday sounds are everywhere. Epcot can be very romantic at night, especially near the tree and the lighted arches.
  • See all the shows you never saw with the kids
  • Act like your inner 12 yo

I almost forgot - afternoon tea at GF. DW and I tried it last year, but I got sick while we were there  (not from the tea, something I had the night before). While we were there, it was very nice.

Drop a hint to get yourself a nice necklace at Downtown Disney Huge Disney store in the jewelry section. There is a really neat delicate Mickey symbol with a small diamond (about $120) and/or hint to treat yourself to neat Minnie watch. Von loves hers. Nice ones are under $60.00. Real high end ones in the jewelry store on Main Street are out of my league, though!!!

Do breakfast at Kona Cafe in the Polynesian...not super romantic, but the Tonga toast is great and afterwards hop the monorail to the Grand Floridian and just wander that lobby and flower gardens...maybe do coffee on the deck in a big white rocker!

Enjoy...Ted
