We are going to WDW in September and my dd's FAVOARITE thing to do is collect autographs. I was trying to think of something other then the book to get autographs on. I was thinking about a t-shirt, but I want to make sure that I used the right kind of markers (I don't want them to ruin after one wash). Any other suggestions?????

Thanks :earsboy:

We are going to be there for my son's bday...I decided to get a bday card and have the characters sign it. I will laminate it after, so it is kept nicely!! I'm going to have to find the right card, though (it needs to be a decent size). But this is a thought I came up with. We have got the disney animated characters book and had the char. sign by their pic. Other times, I had done creative memories scrap books and we put the pic with the autograph.

We did the t-shirt thing for my son on our last trip (he was 10). I bought the fabric markers at Hobby Lobby and they worked pretty good - the color did fade some. I have heard some say that the Sharpies work well.

My daughter will be 10 on our trip in October. I think we are going to purchase a pillow case (or maybe just a large piece of fabric) for the characters to sign and then have that made into a throw pillow. My only concern is that some of the signatures may have a seam running through the middle of them when the throw pillow is made. :confused3

Do work well, have a magical trip. :goodvibes :earsboy:

Plain ball cap ::yes:: You wear it between signings ! Not alot to lug around and easy to hold while signing. OR, what about a plain backpack ! How cool to go to school with an autographed backpack :cool1:

If you decide to do a shirt, I don't think they can be wearing it.

Lacy 1101, why not buy a ready made throw pillow case or make one to fit a form, after the signings just buy the foam form and put it inside.

We did the ball cap thing in May. We plan on taking a different color sharpie next year to get the autographs we missed this year. We'll be able to tell the years apart by color and my hubbie already has his Disney hat ready to go for next time. We were able to find a light color, light weight cap (as opposed to the heavy cotton fabric most are made from.) It was much more comfy to wear all day. It was a great conversation starter while toured the parks.

Did you use the 7x7 disney scrapbook?? That is what i was planning on using. If you did how many pages did you end up using and how did it "handle"??

Thanks
Kellie

One year it rained all of one day so we decided to just go around and collect autographs. I bought one of the hard-bound book that they do every year (this year would say 50th anniversary) and had them all sign inside the front cover. This got me autographs I wanted, plus I didn't have to get postcards since it had tons of photos in chronological order by year and a good souvenir of the anniversary. Snow White actually looked at me and said "hey, that's a good idea..."

I got an 11x14 piece of paper with the castle on the bottom corner and got all the princesses to autograph it. I got it laminated and it makes a beautiful place mat for my princess!

Thanks for all of the good ideas. Does the autograph book look different this year for the 50th ann. celebration? Or is it the same blue book with the characters on it?

I'm thinking of getting standard pillowcases monogrammed for my nieces with their names, and then have the princesses sign them.

I thought about the t-shirts, but this way, they won't grow out of it!

Now there's an idea! Where would you buy a ready-made throw pillow case?

We did the pillow case this May for my dd8. She had a BALL!!! She has the entire pillow case FILLED with autographs . . . we ALMOST ran out of room as the characters were EVERYWHERE!!!!!

ONE MUST DO TIP: Attach an embroidery ring and move it to a fresh spot after each character signature. The characters were SO VERY APPRECIATIVE, I got a "thumbs up" from many characters as it made signing much easier for them!!!

We love the characters so much and I was SO HAPPY to be able to make them happy in return!! :p

Great idea the pillow case, we probably do a pillow case in one park and shirt in another and the book too!

I was thinkig of this... I got a CM disney album 7x7 and I'va cut a lots of diffentent colors PMP for the characters autographs, then i can put them in the album along with their pics!

They may still have the 'regular' blue books but we got two different ones last month. Disney has finally gotten on board with the whole photo beside the autograph deal. Now they sell autograph books just for this purpose!! Left side has a photo slot, right side is plain for the autograph. We bought a blue one with Mickey and his friends on the cover and a pink one, with the princesses on the cover. The princess one actually had it's own gold ink pen attached to it. Dd loves them.

We also bought one of those bucket hats (I think that's what they're called anyway) in a craft store. Just plain white cotton. We had the 'main' characters sign that for dd last year. And she wore it in the parks between siginings. She has it prominantly displayed in her bedroom.

If you have a Joann's Fabrics near you they may have the ready made throw pillow cases. Hopefully you can get a solid in a light color. If not, try their website.

Also, making a throw pillow case is so easy, if you have any friends who sew I'm sure they wouldn't mind, it would take about 5 minutes.

Thanks so much, 4forDis! :flower:

A pillowcase would be a cool idea. You could take a picture of something Disney related and print it onto iron-transfer paper and iron it onto the middle of the case. Then take a Sharpie and let the characters sign the empty pillow case!!!! I got one of these for my 10th birthday and all my party guests signed it and I still have it and then ink hasn't even faded!!!!! :cool1:
