I came up with a "Do It Yourself" idea for a "DIS lanyard ID" to help identify members of the DIS while at WDW. I passed the idea along to Pete and have received his permission to post it. The ID fits in the plastic "pocket" of the lanyard I received at EPCOT for a CP package a few years back.
Here is a link to a photo of the DIS ID: DIS Lanyard ID
The ID was created on a piece of glossy photo paper using MicroSoft Word2000. I used a rectangular "autoshape", 3 1/2" x 4", which I outlined in black. I then created Mickey's head using 3 oval "autoshapes". These, I "filled" with lime green. I then added "The DIS" and my name in lime green using text boxes. I added my DIS screen name (MiJo) to Mickey's head in black using another text box. The text boxes are "no fill". To finish it off, I "filled" the original 3 1/2" x 4" rectangle using 2 colors, yellow and white, in a horizontal "shading style".
It is not as difficult as it may sound but it does take a little manipulation and knowledge of Word. If you're bored and enjoy playing around with Word, have fun designing your own ID!
