ID tattoos for kids

I just saw this in a magazine. They are tattoo about the size of bandaids that are printed with your cell # and name, in case your toddler gets lost and is unable or too small to give info. I think this is a cool idea and just wish I had come up with it.

We used silicone bracelets instead.

We used Tottoos on DS, as currently he takes off or breaks any kind of jewelry. They worked really well!

Dd(6) was fine wearing the bracelet on her wrist...but we put ds' (2) on his ankle before we put on his socks and sneakers. He forgot about it quickly and it didn't come off until we put him to bed at night!

DS was 21 mos at the time, he may be better now. Our next trip is for his third birthday and I may get him a cool dogtag or bracelet. He loved his tattoo, though, and showed it off to strangers the whole trip!

I had a toll free number on it, that would blast a call to all three adults cell phones if dialed during the trip, but protects my private numbers.

Definately getting the Tattoos. All three of my kids love tattoos, so the main problem will be trying to get them to not want to put all of them on at one time.

I was going to go with the tattoo too (my DDs have tats at all times, right now they are sporting Hannah ones!) but I just found this website for dogtags and they seem better to me. I like them because you can clip them to their belt loop and they wont fall off or get taken off, they wont get messed up in the water, they will last forever, they come in different colors like pink (the only color my DD3 will wear!), and on the back, you can get an ingraving of a balerina, baseball player, dog, etc.

Thank you for this thread! I had not even thought about the "what if" with all the excitement of our first trip in Dec!!! My daughter has eczema so I'm glad to know I can order wristbands for her!

Was the phone number something your purchased along with the tattoo?

No, it's sold by the company I work for. I tried to get a contract with Totoos, but my CEO wouldn't go for it. I think he made a mistake, personally. There are many such companies with low costs. Look up "toll free number with follow-me"

THey are a great idea - just awful to try and get off!!
