We are going on the Grand Gathering Fireworks cruise and I don't want to have to bring anything more than absolutely necessary. Can anyone tell me what I will need to have with me when we get to the Contemporary for the cruise and what time to be there ? Will we all have to have our resort / park tickets for each individual member of our group ? Will we have to show some other proof (driver's license, etc) ? Will I need my confirmation ? Can anyone that has been there tell me what you had to do and what they asked you for when you got there, please ?? Thank you !! :wave2:

We aren't going on our cruise until August so I can't help you with ID issues, but I keep hearing over and over that you need to put on bug spray before you go or you will be miserable fighting off the mosquitos.

Just got back from WDW a couple of days ago and our group did the Grand Gatherings Fireworks Cruise. I would have to say for me it was a highlight of the trip. It was so nice just to sit back and relax for awhile, and the view of the fireworks was amazing. So different than seeing it from Main Street. They are both magical in their own ways. OK on to the questions.

We were told that the cruise started at 8:45 and that we should be there about 8:00-8:15. You meet on the 4th floor of the Contemporary. When we reached the 4th floor we were greeted by a CM who asked us if we were there for the Grand Gathering Magical Voyage Fireworks Cruise. He pointed out where to go. We were there a little early so we did some shopping in the gift shops that are right next to the reception area.

I had brought my confirmation with me, but we didn't need it. Nor did we need ID or park tickets. The CM at the gate to the reception area had a list of names. The just asked for the name of our Gathering. Then they called off each person's name on the list and let us through the gate as we were called. We were then taken aside by a CM that gave us our pins and explained what was going to happen - dessert bar and drinks, characters, bathroom break (no bathroom on boat and it is an hour long cruise), cruise, meeting Peter upon return, etc.

The desserts were so delicious - brownies, cookies, a to die for chocolate cheesecake with candies and marshmallows on top, tarts, etc. Then they had coffee, hot chocolate, sodas, and water. While we were eating Captain Hook and Mr. Smee came out to greet and sign autographs. They announced that their was 10 minutes left and to use the restroom if needed. Then we were lead to our boat. There were two boats that night and we were on Mr. Smee's boat so we followed him down to the dock.

On the cruise they introduced all the groups and asked if we were celebrating anything special. We then stopped to watch the Electric Water Parade. Afterwards, Patches told jokes and sang songs. Of course, we all sang along with. We started playing Disney Triva to win pirate prizes such as swords, eye patches, and hooks. We stopped to watch Wishes and then finished playing on the way back. When the prizes ran out, Patches told the story of Peter Pan. Of course he finished the story just as we arrived to the dock and who was there waiting for us, but Peter Pan himself.

It was so much fun! The kids loved it the adults loved it. It was so relaxing and entertaining. Have a great time!
