ID for alcohol?

I wasn’t sure where to post this question. If we have a magic band and the dining plan, is it necessary to carry an ID in the park? This seems like a silly question, but we are trying to carry as little as possible.

You still need your ID. Magic bands can be swapped too easily.

Yes you will need an ID. You could have anyone's magic band. They want a picture to prove you say who you are. If you live in the U.S. and have a driver's license that will work, but if you are live outside the U.S. you will be asked for a passport. Foreign driver's licenses aren't allowed as ID.

Yes. Bring your ID, a credit card, and some cash just in case. The MBs don’t always work so it's good to have a backup option.

Yes. You may not be carded, but if you are you will need your ID. A magic band is not valid ID to buy alcohol.

No, they dropped that marketing bit pretty quickly.

Room charging can fail so bring other forms of payment, you need ID to use any discounts you might have, you need proof of any discount you might get (AP, Dvc, TIW, chase credit or debit card), ID for alcohol...

I also bring my insurance card in case my day ends at the ER.

I bring everything I used to bring AND have the plastic bangle.

That's just common sense.
Yes Disney can and does ask for ID when ordering alcohol.

All of my adult children get carded in WDW. Every single time. DH and I... no, but we are obviously late 40's-early 50's.
I watched a CM in Amorette's turn away a young woman trying to order a wine slush because she didn't have ID. She was trying to use her MB as "proof" of her age. She was Japanese and there was no language barrier as she spoke English fluently, but she assumed the MB held all her information.

Yes yes yes. I have been in Disney Springs when the system that allows you to charge back to your room went down and nobody could charge anything. We were on the dining plan and the credits couldn't be applied. It wasn't in one place either. You couldn't use your Magic Band to charge anything, anywhere. It does happen.

Generally speaking, it's always a good idea to have your ID on you. I know people like to carry light in the parks, but I'm always amazed at how many people choose to leave their ID behind.

My sister and I have been asked at F&W, a few TS locations, AND when picking up a mobile order... You should always have it on you whether you are getting alcohol or not. It's just common sense.

This is my base level to go out of the house, even if I'm trying to carry just the bare minimum. However, I have often been accused of being over prepared, so I'm not sure if everyone else feels the same.

Really, if you don't have the insurance card, it's not like you have to pay out of pocket. You can give a provider insurance details at a later date and they'll bill it then. Or, as long as you know your carrier and the SSN of the primary insured, that information can be gotten over the phone or online. I still don't go out without it: why make it hard on myself when I don't have to? But, I can see the other side of the argument, too.
