Ok, so help me out. I'm trying to identify my photo ops before I go. Please help me fill in the blank.

Disneyland/MK: Cinderella Castle
Epcot: Spaceship Earth golfball
Animal Kingdom: Tree of Life
Hollywood Studios: Sorcerer's Hat

California Adventures: _______________

edit. Most people here tend to think its Mickey's Fun Wheel, but Disney apparently wants it to be the Carthay Circle.

For me, either Carthay Circle or Mickey's Fun Wheel viewed from across the pier.

I would guess that before it may have been GRR but it may very well become the landscaping around carsland... Time will tell I suppose :)

Thanks for the quick responses!
I was thinking the Fun Wheel would be it as well, but they are usually things in the front/center of the park. That's what had me thinking maybe the Carthay.

Now that Carthay Circle has been unveiled, it seems very landmark(y) to me....but the view across the bay works too.

Well, DCA is tough because what would be the answer to your question is no longer there because of the recent redo and what is there, half anyway, is too new to call it iconic.

If you asked this question two years ago your answer is either the letters, the bridge, the fun wheel, or the bear. Now, I think you have to go with the fun wheel or the bear. The others are too new to be iconic yet.

P.S you will search a very, very long time for Cinderella's Castle at DL. It's Sleeping Beauty's Castle that you will see, not Cinderella's. :goodvibes

Well, if you go by the scrapbooking stickers, Disney thinks it's the Bear, but I think it's Mickey's Fun Wheel O' Death. :)

Mickey's Fun Wheel O' Death. :)

:rotfl2:

The new Walt Statue
The new Radiator Springs sign
The Radiator Springs canyon back drop
The Wheel and the Roller Coaster (with the wheel, all **pro photographers, line their subjects so it looks like they are wearing the mickey ears pictured on the wheel)
The big Grizzly rock - there are a few different angles to get this. The decent ones I know of are by the beginning of Bugs Land (kind of a profile angle) and behind the Ariel ride with the old mill and water wheel in the background (more of a straight-on angle)

(**me and my point-and-shoot)

What scrapbooking stickers? Got a link?
I've never been, but I assume you're talking about the bear statue outside the Grizzly River Run?

I've always thought Disney used the Golden Gate as its symbol for DCA so who knows now.

Carthay Circle Theater is what DCA considers it's iconic landmark, according to the CM's I've asked when I was on DL tours.

Previously I would have said the iconic picture would be to put a party member in each of the California letters, then take a picture of the whole word.

Now I'd take a picture across the bay from the Mickey Sun wheel with that as the backdrop. Especially at night when the colors are moving its truly gorgeous. RSR backdrop (also at night) would be my second choice.

(And for DL its the Sleeping Beauty Castle, not Cinderella Castle just to be nit-picky ;). Extra points if you can get the Walt statue in the foreground.)

Not the bear statue, the mountain that looks like a big bear.
I bought the scrapbooking stickers years ago. Sometimes they have them in the stores in Down Town Disney -- the big World of Disney store is a good place to look.

Where is this mountain located? (I've never been there)
I know they have WDW scrapbook kits online. I'll look for some Disneyland kits while I'm there, since it doesn't look like they'll be available on the site. Thanks again!

If you go to Disneyland.com, they have a side by side of each park. For DL, it is the castle. For DCA it is Carthay Circle Theater. So, I would guess the CCT is going to be the new landmark for DCA.

Personally, I think Grizzly Peak is more of a landmark but if you think about it.. Grizzly Peak is the equivalent to the Matterhorn at DL. I think Carthay Circle Theater is meant to be the new landmark of DCA (just like other's have mentioned, if you go to Disneyland.com the side by side images are of Sleeping Beauty's Castle and Carthay Circle)

Mickey's Fun Wheel is another great one. It's iconic now that Mickey's face is on it. When it was just the Sun Wheel (before the refurb) I highly doubt anyone would have coined it a landmark of DCA. ;)

For me it was the bridge, which has been removed so now it's mickeys death wheel.
