Well, this isn't a full trip report, just something we noticed on our last trip...
The maintenance is going downhill at Disney. Some of the bathrooms were pretty icky, some falling into the "EWWW<NASTY!" category. I was truly surprised- we've been to Disney about a million times- and in the past, the clean bathrooms and all areas was what set Disney apart from competitors. Not so anymore. Honestly, we spent time in the Disney parks, and at Universal too. Universal had cleaner bathrooms!
I find this sad, they still charge a LOT more than competitors theme parks, and while they are still enjoyable, finding flooded toilets, and crud and paper junk everywhere in about 80% of the bathrooms we visited, was not "magical."
The ones in the England area of Epcot were probably the worst, but unfortunately, the problem was everywhere.
What can I say,I really like clean decent bathrooms!

i agree- we were there in Dec and i thought the same exact thing. their bathrooms used to be spotless and now- they are gross. you used to see someone in there all the time cleaning-- they must have fired some people!

and hey- we all like clean decent bathrooms...go ahead and say it.....
dont be shy.....

i am hsmamato2 and i LOVE a clean bathroom! :rotfl:

I've read similar opinions in the past - and just wondering - did you complain to a CM or have you e-mailed or otherwise contacted Disney about the problem. I can't imagine they wouldn't notice, but perhaps if enough people begin complaining (loudly), they will return to being the park that Walt envisioned.

I've read a lot of reports about this too. Every time we have been the bathrooms have been quite clean but if I saw an icky bathroom I would definitely let a CM know.

We were there last week and all of the bathrooms were fine and with 3 kids - we were in them a lot. The only problem I noticed was the water around the sinks which wouldn't be a problem if people just swiped the sink with a towel after they were done washing their hands..

I noticed it back during my December trip as well, although the ones I used last month seemed a bit better.

I noticed this too during my trip in Jan. The bathroom by Peco's Bills was not very neat & pretty!

I think the real reason is that we can''t get enough castmembers. Unemployment rate in Orlando is really low, cant find people to work

We were there in Oct and Dec and everytime I went to the Ladies it was immaculate and there was always an attendant in there keeping things clean and neat.....and this was at all 4 parks....DTD is another story....YUCK

Don't blame Disney or the CM,s ..blame the people who use the restrooms and cannot clean up after themselves. ick.

Man oh man....has anyone seen those HANDWASHING INSTRUCTION signs posted in the restrooms lately??!!!?!?!!?!? Craziest thing I've seen in awhile. I just DONT get it. Check it out!

FREAKY!!! These things were EVERYWHERE in the RR on my last trip.

My kids thought those"wash your hands properly" signs were hilarious!
I do blame the slobs who leave a mess, but disney and the cm's are very much responsible for keeping their facilities clean. I guess what I meant, and some others have agreed, is that they used to be the best of the best! And they're still good, just not the best anymore, and they still could be. All this expansion has left a lack of cast members? Then stop expanding, and make what you have of such impeccable quality that peple really will come back again and again for that special magic! Anyway- where do I find email contact info for disney directly? I'd be more than happy to let them know... :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

When we were there in January the bathrooms we used were perfectly clean. My suggestion would be to send an email to disney guests services and complain about what you saw/experienced.

I had sent an e-mail to Disney regarding the disgusting bathrooms. You should too so Disney knows what is going on. I would do that rather than alerting a CM. How do we know that the CM's report the occurrences?

These types of "instructions" are for all the "ding dongs" who dont have any common sense and need instructions....or else you know what can happen....lawsuit of some kind i am sure! i can hear it now.....well i got e-coli from not washing my hands because no one told me i had to, so it is everyone elses fault but my own because i am a ding dong! :thumbsup2

kind of like on my schredder- it shows you a picture of a tie with a slash over it--- like who would really need to be told this stuff?? :rotfl:

Reporting it to a CM would see that the mess is cleaned up then and there. And while I think it is a good idea to let the higher ups know we like clean bathrooms, wouldn't it be nice if we were part of the solution? If you make a mess, clean it up. Pick up any paper you drop (especially those seat cover thingys :crazy2: ), and remember to flush!!!
