My parents are in town to celebrate my Mom's 60th birthday. We took them to ICE last night. It was truely amazing!!! Hot chocolate and a little Christmas show afterwards just added to the fun!! I am really in the holiday spirit now!!(a little hard to do when it's in the 70's and we were out on the boat last weekend!!) If you get the chance I highly reccomend checking out ICE and the Gaylord Palms all decorated for Chistmas. Just gorgeous!!

It does look spectacular! I think I could try getting in the holiday spirit w/ 70 degree's. It is currently snowing AGAIN here and the wind chill has had the temps in the teen the last few days.

I'm with ya Kilee.....I can only DREAM of a warm, tropical Christmas :sunny:
It's much too cold and icy for me.......I didn't even want to go out and do holiday shopping this weekend due to the weather.
To znjmom.....have a wonderful time celebrating your mom's 60th ! I'll have to keep ICE in mind for perhaps a future Dec trip to FL. I haven't been to the Orlando area during the holidays since '98, but we had such a blast that visit. Happy birthday to your mom !!! :cheer2:

Thanks for the birthday wishes!!! She ended up having a really great day!! :cake:

I am looking forward to our first "tropical Christmas"!! ( We moved here from Syracuse, NY :cold: ) I am sorry that you are freezing up in the north!!

We happen to drive by the Gaylord last Saturday night and noticed all the cars going into it. We wondered what was going on there. Later that night I happen to read an article in Orlando paper about ICE. Just wondering how exhibit works, do you pay an admission fee and walk through, is it mainly ice sculptours, are there other parts to the attraction. Just curious.

Phrank,

Yes, there is an admission fee of.......I don't remember exactly, around $17.(DS brought home a $2 off coupon from school) and then you walk through at your own pace. At 9 degrees we moved pretty quickly. There are all kinds of ice sculptures and scenes with everything made out of ice. 2 million pounds of it!! They have 3 ice slides that the kids, okay DH and I, really had fun on. After you are done there are activities and free hot chocolate. If you have never been to the Gaylord Palms it is worth spending some time just exploring. It is decorated so nice for Chistmas and there are short musical performances throughout the day. We had a great time and it reminded us why we moved to Florida!!! :sunny:
