Ice water and QSDP

I understand that, but I would still take it up with someone up the ladder. The easiest and best resolution to this for BoG is to take the purple logo off the soup!!
You wont get an argument from me there. I have never been a fan of the wishy washy rules system that Disney has in place. Make a rule, mae it clear, and then leave it alone.

Maybe, but what if the intention is for the soup to remain a snack credit?

If I had to venture a guess, I would say that a lot of this is stemming from the "serve yourself" drink stations. Lots of people are probably doing the substitution to get the soup, then going ahead and helping themselves to their drink of choice, as well. I mean, come on...the cups are right there and nobody's watching, right? If this is the case, then it's probably being observed at BoG, so mgmt is taking steps to prevent it from happening anymore.

This exactly! The drink service is help yourself, so if I were management there I would certainly make the drink portion of the meal a non exchangeable item. You know how people are, a significant number would just help themselves, so other than having the server also bring your drinks which would really slow them up and contribute to less table turnover, there is really no good way to police it.

It's a little similar to the mug situation. We all have chips in our refillable resort mugs now, and I don't see people filling drink coolers at the refill stations anymore, or with old mugs they bought two or three years ago. Please don't take offence, most people follow the rules, but a lot will just help themselves, making it more inconvenient for the rest of us.

If just a few people were observed doing these things I'm sure they would let it slide. I'd bet it's more than just a few people.

Or they could just take the cups away from the drink station, and only give them to those who "buy" a drink. People would probably still abuse it by buying one drink and more than one drinking from the cup, but it wouldn't be as blatant and would not be as much of a loss.

Or, they could just make it fixed price (breakfast and lunch) like it was supposed to be in the beginning, make the price somewhat reasonable (even for Disney standards...maybe back to $19.95/person breakfast AND lunch), and it won't matter anymore. Everyone in the door pays the same price, then it doesn't matter who gets what to drink, and it curbs people making ADR's simply for early park entry.

Problem solved. This stuff isn't rocket science.
