Is Ice Station Cool open year round? We are planning two possible WDW vacations and I have some relatives who need to experience the Beverly. ::yes::  We'll be there in April and December. (hopefully)

Thanks!

i know it was open in both Feb and in March
i have never heard of them closing it

i LOVE to see people's faces when they first try some of the drinks

can't wait for my MIL in try beverly also:tongue:

I'm also pretty sure ut is open all year, it really is a must do. Who would of thought it would be so fun to drink pop (or soda, or whatever you call it).

Year round. Nothing like seeing my kids' faces after chugging some of that soda !

I am glad that it is open year around! I knew about the Beverly from the boards and kept the info. from my DH. When he took a large gulp, the look on his face was priceless!:earseek: After that, we went back to Ice Station Cool twice (DH's choosing) and watched the unsuspecting people take a drink. I can't wait for my in laws to try this one!!!! :teeth:

Thanks for the info!!!!:wave2:

My kids are not adventerous, they would only try one or two. I tried the Beverly a few years back (fully knowing about it) and thought it wasn't as bad as I expected. This last trip however, I was running for a real coke as soon as we were done, it seemed so much worse this time!!!

I absolutely LOVE that place! I never knew about it until someone told me to try it last year... but I have to ask... what is the Lemony drink?

Okay, now you have me courious.....what/where is Ice Station Cool?

Ice Cool station is located at EPCOT in Future World, Innoventions Plaza. The theme is an artic expedition, and it is sponsored by Coke. Inside you can sample various sodas from around the world for free. Some are kind to the taste buds, but some are very bitter.

Some of the sodas offered are:

Smart Watermelon
China
The Chinese name for watermelon, hsi-kua (pronounced she-gua) means melon from the west, which introduced it to China nearly 1200 years ago. Today, the Chinese produce 40% of the world's watermelon crop and consume millions of watermelons each summer.

Kinley Lemon
Israel
Invading Mongrols were probably the first to introduce lemonade to the Middle East. Historical records from the 12th century reveal that a drink made of lemons, water and honey was popular among Genghis Khan's thirsty warriors.

Vegitabeta
Japan
The Japanese have long recognized the importance of beverages for both nutrition and health benefits. In modern Japan, this interest in healthy consumption finds its ultimate expression in "Health" vending machines that dispense vitamin drinks like Vegitabeta.

Mezzo Mix
Germany
The best known German beverage is beer. Germans often mix their beer with other beverages to weaken the alcohol content and enhance the flavor. Mixing flavors has also become popular in nonalcoholic beverages like Mezzo Mix.

Beverly <---- VERY BITTER
Italy
Drinking an aperitif before dinner to stimulate the appetite is a traditional part of Italian refreshment culture. Beverly, with it's (sic) bitter flavor, is a popular non-alcoholic aperitif.

Krest Ginger Ale
Mozambique
Ginger has long been used as a medicinal herb throughout Africa, so it is not surprising that Ginger Ale is a popular drink in Mozambique. It is also popular in shebeens, informal bars, where it is used as a mixer.

I don't know how I've missed this all these years but it's on my must do list for next time. I'm going to get DH to taste the Beverly first. ;)

I liked the Costa Rican punch. It tasted like Kola Champagne. :jester:

I didn't know about the Ice Station Cool either until reading about it on the boards. I told my wife that the Beverly was supposed to be really good and she took a big gulp... we had been married for one whole day (got married at Disney) and it was almost the shortest disney wedding in history! :p :p :p

The moment was priceless though!

This is my first time checking the boards in awhile, but wanted to let you know that we were in Disney from June 21-30 of 2003 and Ice Station Cool was closed the whole time. I was very disappointed after reading about it here!

I am taking my family to WDW next month and I have told them all about Ice Station Cool, including my true assessment of Beverly - Blech! My (extremely picky) sister said, "hey since I don't like a lot of stuff other that people think is good, maybe I will like Beverly! I can't wait to try it!" Still, I doubt she'll like it!

I like Beverley! I can't be a woman alone: I actually nip into ISC for a cup for pleasure, everything else, in and out of the attraction, is just too sweet!!

mY HUSBAND AND I happened upon it not knowing there was soda aroubd the world in there. Very cool place. I didn't find anything I liked in there. My kids loved it especially since the cups were there size. I loved the coca cola memorabila store at the end.

Oh man, I remember the first time I tried Beverly...it is soooooooo terrible. I love tricking people into drinking the Beverly. Every time I go to WDW with someone that hasn't been before I try to get them to drink it. I do have to admit though, I do like the lemon drink...it's pretty good...
