Last night I did a search for refrigerators onboard the ships and found that ALL cabins do have a cooling unit/mini refrig. in every cabin, but there appeared to be a lot of people saying that they did not always work well to keep things cold.

Are there ice machines onboard ? Perhaps if I had ice to begin with, it would help to keep items cooler in the cabin units. My 8 yr old DD takes liquid allergy meds, and it helps if it is cold. However I do not want to ask the staff for a refrigerator to be brought in to our cabin beause it is not medically necessary to keep her meds refrigerated.

Thanks for the help as always!!:cloud9: ONLY 89 DAYS TO GO!!!

I don't think there are ice machines, but your room steward will fill up your ice buckets on request. They used to do it routinely, but now I believe you need to ask or leave a note for him/her. I think you can also get ice from the drink station on deck 9.

the "frigs' are "coolers", not real refrigerators, though some would beg to differ with me. There are no real ice machines you have access to except the one (actually 2) on deck 9 at the drink station. Let your stateroom attendant know you want ice at least 2x/day & he or she will keep your bucket filled. I have also asked (with varying success) for a double bag of ice (2 plastic bags for thickness) to put in the cooler to keep baby formula/milk etc cold. This works well. Change it out every day. If you brought some thick (freezer) zip lock type bags that would work also.

The thing about the room coolers is that they will keep things cool if they have already been chilled, but they will not chill warm soda, water, beer, etc.
