We just got back from a wonderful 9 days at WDW.
There is so much we could talk about but there is one
particular I wish to share.
We had PS for the Ice Cream Social at the Garden Grill Restaurant
on 12/1 for 2:50pm. We were a party of 8.We were also about 40 min late! Not only did they adjust our PS and seat us but we were the only ones in the restaurant at the time. Each of the characters came out and entertained us throughout the entire visit. At one point my cousins DS-7 years old-asked when Mickey would come out and within minuites he appeared.
It was truely magical.
The service was fast and the characters were great and I recommend this as a nice break in the afternoon. :earsboy:

What a cool thing happen - someday I will get to try the social - thanks for posting!

Hi!
Could you tell me a little more specifics about the Ice Cream Social? My niece will be turning 2 yrs old while we are there in april, do you think this might be an appropriate activity for her birthday? There will be 7 or maybe 8 of us including her. I have heard of it, but reall don't know much about it. How soon can you make a PS for it?

Thanks-
Lori

"If you are interested in a fun, inexpensive, and TASTY way to meet Disney characters on a one-on-one, consider going to an Ice Cream Social. It is held daily in the Garden Grill restaurant in The Land pavilion at Epcot.

In addition to meeting some of your favorite Disney characters (typically Mickey, Chip and Dale who are dressed in cute "farmer" attire), you will feast on delectable ice cream treats. Children are served a "clown shaped" ice cream treat, which is actually an inverted waffle cone filled with rich vanilla bean ice cream nestled atop a bed of whipped cream on a chocolate chip cookie. Fresh fruit and gummy worms also adorn the plate. Adults are served a delicious waffle cone filled with vanilla bean ice cream, and decorated with wafers and chocolate curls. The waffle cone rests atop a sinfully rich chocolate chip cookie, and the plate is decorated with fresh fruit and a drizzle of chocolate sauce.

Seating for the Ice Cream social is at 3:00pm daily. Priority Seating is strongly recommended and can be booked 120 days in advance. Upon making reservations you will be asked for a credit card guarantee. Your card will NOT be charged unless you fail to show and do not cancel at least 24-hours in advance. Then, a fee of $10 per Priority Seating will be charged to your credit card. The cost is $6.99 per person (for adults and children), plus tax and gratuity. For those that don't want a sundae, there will be a $5 entertainment fee. Beverages may be purchased for an additional cost. Please note that prices and features are subject to change without notice."

We did this last summer and it was a lot of fun and I think your niece would enjoy this ... be sure and tell them when you make the reservation that she'll be celebrating her b'day and mention it again when you check in at the Garden Grill (don't forget to pick up her birthday badge). Oh Mickey, Chip & Dale, and Pluto visited our table.
