Ice cream social... is it worth it?

This is an inexpensive way to meet the characters one-on-one. Definately worth the (very low) price tag, and much better "bang for the buck" than the more expensive character meals. Great fun! ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

Another YES for the social. We were there mid-Feb this year. Social was a great way to meet characters without all the time, fuss & cost of a character meal. Our 4 & 2 yr olds have a hard time sitting thru an entire meal to begin with. The sundaes are obviously pre-made (but yummy) and we got ours right away. I've noticed that a lot of character meals are buffet-style which is a real pain w/2 small kids- my DH would have to sit w/the kids & the camera at the table while I juggled their plates at the buffet & then I'd come back & he'd go up etc etc. This seemed to be much much more relaxing that the usual character meal chaos. At the time we went, the social was daily at 3 PM at the Garden Grille in the Land Pavillion at Epcot. They told us res. were required 24 hrs. in advance- we actually just walked right up & asked if they had any no shows or cancellations & they were able to seat us within 5 minutes. We will definitely do this again!!

We are going on our next trip. I had no problems getting reservations and I just made them for the end of March! Only they can't sit 6 to a table but will try and seat us near each other. I think for the price it is a steal! We always eat ice cream anyway! So why not have it with the characters!?!?!? I can't wait!

We did the Ice Cream Social and loved it. If your having a special day let them know. They gave my daughter a cerficate signed by the characters because it was her b.day. The characters do come around a few times we saw chip dale mickey pluto no minne.....still was fun. The cone is on a Nestles choc. chip cookie the kind they make at the Kids Kitchen at the same spot that the Garden Grill is at. I think it was worth it.:sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Do they do the 're-hitching' ceremony then too, or only during meals? We have never seen one of these, only read about them. Has anyone seen one?

My hubby and I went to the ice cream social with our daughter last May 2003 and we got "rehitched" there! It was really fun and our then 4.5 year old got a big kick out of it! You can request the rehitching ceremony when you make a PS. It was a blast! My hubby didn't know I had planned it! : )

My husband and I are going and I'm thinking of booking this and surprising him with the Rehitching Ceremony! Sounds like it's a lot of fun. I showed him the website on it and he said it sounded "hokey!" I think he'll enjoy it!

Now, to just figure out which day of our trip to go!

How long does it last?

Are kids under 3 charged for this?? It just says child and adult same price???
