This is similar to a recipe that was in TOH's Quick Cooking a few years back. My DSIL makes it all the time. So Easy!
Layer ice cream sandwiches in the bottom of a 9 x13 cake pan, will need to cut one in half to fit. Spread half of the whipped topping over sandwiches. Then spoon hot fudge on top. Sprinkle with peanuts. Layer more ice cream sandwiches. Then whipped topping. Then more peanuts. Freeze.

You can also use different nuts, toppings or the chocolate or Neapolitan ice cream sandwiches.
Layer banana slices, mix crushed pineapple (drained)into the whipped topping and top with maraschino cherries and peanuts for banana split.
Or layer cherry pie filling on top of the hot fudge layer and on top of dessert and omit nuts for black forest.
Add caramel after the hot fudge and sprinkle on top of the dessert, and use pecans for a turtle version.
Instead of whipped topping use marshmallow fluff, or add mini marshmallows after hot fudge almonds and for rocky road.
Mix peanut butter into the whipped topping for a chocolate peanut butter cup version.
You can also use cookies and various ice creams instead of the ice cream sandwiches.
For example make the refrigerated sugar cookie dough in the bottom of the 9 x 13 pan, or on a cookie sheet and cut to fit the 9 x 13 pan (make enough for the top and bottom of the sandwich layer.) Cool completely. Top with ice cream, then cookie. Then continue with recipe.
Use sugar cookie, cinnamon ice cream, caramel and apple pie filling for caramel apple.
Or sugar cookie, vanilla or caramel, bananas, caramel for bananas foster.
You can also use the Kraft refrigerated cheesecake filling for the ice cream or the whipped topping.
Sugar cookie, cheesecake filling (or vanilla ice cream), whipped topping (or cheesecake filling), strawberry topping (or cherry pie filling) for strawberry (or cherry) for strawberry cheesecake.
Just some ideas to pass along. I have to go finish making dinner, or I would come up with some more variations. Maybe I'll post more later.
