OK, so I know it sounds like a ludicrous idea but my DS (5) is determined that he wants to have ice-cream for breakfast when we visit WDW in April.

I think he thinks that 'The Merica' is the kind of magical place where ice-cream for breakfast is perfectly acceptable - and I reckon since we'll be on holiday, I can let it go just once ;)

So, any ideas on WDW restaurants where we can get ice-cream at breakfast time please :)

The breakfast buffet at 1900 Park Fare in the GF has a soft serve machine that is on during breakfast. Main Street bakery at the MK has a great ice cream cookie sandwich (a couple scoops of your choice sandwiched between two fresh cookies) that you can get at any hour. That's all I'm aware of, but I haven't looked very hard.

OMG!!!!! That is all my DH wants to do while on vaca (and it doesn't have to be in Disney either) :sad2: . His favorite place is the Main Street Bakery, the sandwiches are awesome, but I have to wait until after lunch before I get one :goodvibes

If you're offsite at all, the Golden Corral buffets have desert set out at breakfast time. It's really hard to convince a kid they're not making a sundae at 8:00 a.m.

Especially when mom helped herself to the banana pudding. :rolleyes1

Captain Cooks @ the Poly has the Dole Whip machine..not sure if it's available at breakfast? :confused3 but you could consider that a serving of fruit if it is? :thumbsup2

Any of the resort counter service (food court) locations have ice cream coolers that remain fully stocked even during breakfast hours. Drumstick anyone?

Actually it can be really simple, there are ice cream carts set up in the parks so he can select a Micket bar and any other treat from the cart.

My 5yo nephew chose an itzakadoozie at MGM on our final day! He ate before 11am. We had a good pizza lunch later at the resort.

We've done this a few times...seems perfectly acceptable to me...I'm such a good mom! :lmao: Besides simply buying a Mickey bar we have also bought ice cream sundaes for breakfast at Mrs. Potts, eaten dole whips, ice cream on main street... MK is a terrific place for an ice cream breakfast!:thumbsup2

All the restaurants, both table service and quick service, that have ice cream available at any time during the day have it available at breakfast. All you have to do is ask for it as it is not shown on the breakfast menu.

That's funny because my DD (3) keeps talking about having ice cream for breakfast a Disney World. Must be a little kid fantasy. Ok, maybe not just a "little kid" fantasy. ;)

I am all for eating ice cream and cookies and whatever else we want(within reason)for breakfast while on vacation. It is kinda like Christmas for us, our family vacation only comes once a year, why not make it special and do things that we would NEVER do at home. These are little things that our kids will always remember!

That is my thinking too - I am sure DS thinks of Disney World as this marvellous place where, for two whole weeks, he gets to eat exactly what he wants ;)

I had the ice cream cookie sandwich from the Main Street Bakery for breakfast. I eat all kinds of "strange" things when I actually eat breakfast; I think ice cream for breakfast is a great idea!

Yup it's on at breakfast, and i'd consider it a serving of fruit..or two.. or three, whatever it takes man.

I think that is the cutest "dream"!! Just magical! Sounds like you got a lot of good advice, so I hope it happens for him!

Another suggestion is what we used to do when I was a teen and I attended a music camp in Maryland...one day breakfast consisted of cold cereal with vanilla ice cream in place of milk....so you could probably have your son have cereal with ice cream at Disney...if he likes cereal....or the time we were getting our backyard pool put in at my parents home..I was about 10 or 11...my neighbor served me peach pie with ice cream for breakfast.....ice cream is an anytime food especially since it's dairy based.

ICE CREAM for BREAKFAST!!!!!!!!:cool1: :cool1:

I am in agreement with Ivanleer.it is a milk based product so why not!!!!!

it sure can not be any worse than milk and cereal!

HOPE IS DREAN COMES TRUE!
MANY TIMES

good for your son:) He's my kind of kid:) Tell him to eat some for me too:) I carry a fork with me at all time, just in case I need it:) If I have a buffet, I ALWAYS eat dessert first..Have a great time and savor the moments,

The thing that made me giggle was after one trip my youngest dd was telling her BFF about it, and the main thing they talked about was me giving her ice cream for breakfast. (yeah, it's always my idea:banana: ) DD's BFF could hardly believe it and swore her mother would never let her have ice cream for breakfast!:rotfl2:
