Hi

So now that we've had our holiday I'm thinking to the next one... :)

I've always wanted to see the parks at Christmas but now ds is at school we are kind of restricted to weekends, are they crazy busy?

The schools are off for in-service days on 8 and 9 November but I'd be scared that IASW would be closed for its Christmas makeover as that is an absolute must, ds and dd both love the ride. I see that next year the school days off are later, 14 and 15 November, but according to the archived closures on DLRP Magic, IASW was closed from 7 to 18 November 2011 so even the later dates might still not be late enough.

Does a nyone have any experience of this time of year? Thanks in advance.

The first week of January has low crowd, it's considered low season for hotel fares and still have the Christmas decorations and shows. It's a good period to go to Disneyland Paris (cold apart, but that won't be any better in December than January).

We went the 7th - 11th Nov gone (mon - thurs) and IASW was closed :( Belles village was the other thing we missed, which was perhaps only open on weekends?? or maybe only weekends that early in Christmas season??

We avoided Armitice day which afair i read somewhere is DLPs busiest day but we got to see the bonfire fireworks on the 7th so overall our dates worked out great because all the other Christmas things were on so it was really only Belles village and IASW that we missed

What Christmas things were on those dates?

auroras christmas hub show, mickeys winter wonderland show, santa was in the old woodys round up and the parade. there was snow on main st when the bells tinkled, fantillusion was on by night and the characters and parks were all christmassed up! it was all so pretty. have a read of my TR from november, its call we are going to the zoo

Thanks for the replies, I'm now thinking of 1st-4th January! DH is already off work and the kids will be off too. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of this time?

Hotel prices are pretty expensive but I'm wondering now if we should stay off site and get ap's through Multiadvantages....hmmm.

Off to read your trip report Kizzabell, thanks!

Eta: I can't find your trip report, do you have a link please?
