So did you get a chance to spend much time with Pikey, I know you were looking forward to that. I have the most hysterical picture of him and I, in his pink tutu. Someday I'll learn how to post. My DS isn't home from college, helps me with all of that. Anyway, what is his latest news, is he staying on the Magic for good or what, his future plans? I'd love to do the Magic again, with his as part of the staff!

yeah, I got to talk to pikey a lot, usually I talked to him a couple minutes after bingo and I talked to him a lot of the last night also. I talked to ian more though. I didn't talk to pikey about his future plans I forgot to do that. But I asked him if i could add him to myspace and he said sure I thought that was cool of him.

oh thats cool, just thinking of Pikey makes me laugh, especially when he had his rabbit ears on at bingo!! omg , does he still do that? I wonder if they know how much they make or break our trips.

I was one of those who didn't look "interested" in singing last year, got pulled up to sing "Man, I feel like a woman"...lol. Of course I got into it once I was infront of everyone. =o)

We loved Ian at Bingo and at Pub Night, which BTW, does anyone know if this is still held on the 4 night Wonder?

Here's what Pikey told me about his future plans. If you want to move up the ranks at DCL, then you have to be willing to work on BOTH ships. His preference is the Magic but he knows he'll be switching back and forth between the two ships.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but if his schedule in 2008 is similar to his 2007 schedule, then he would be on the Wonder in the summer of 2008. But a lot can happen between now and then.

The Disneyland Paris is something he's always wanted to do and he enjoyed it immensely. But he missed DCL and he's back for as long as DCL will have him.

His fiance is onboard but she works behind the scenes so we didn't get to meet her. I never did get around to asking if DCL lets them share a room.

He does keep in touch with Kaz.

The interesting thing with Pikey is how softspoken he is one-on-one and almost a bit shy. I can see where people misinterpret that as being rude and arrogant. But its not the case at all - he's just a bit reserved at the beginning then he becomes more outgoing. He came up to us after the pirate party and chatted and the following night wanted to know which dining room we would be in on the last night.

I can see him becoming assistant cruise director someday.

Sadly, Kaz left DCL and is working for a different cruiseline. I believe its Silversea. Don't know if she and Andy Carbone work on the same ship or not.

Kaz is engaged!!!

I liked her a lot. We were on several cruises with her but never had the chance to talk one on one. And now I regret not speaking with her and telling her she did a terrific job. She would have made a great cruise director on DCL.

I swear the two of them have more energy than my ds7.

I still have visions of Ian in a full suit jumping up and down and dancing with all the kids at one of the clubs. DH and I were sweating just watching him. Then he's in the white shorts/polo doing contests at the adult pool. Next thing he's soaked. Then at cc he was buried in the sand.

Pikey makes the most boring game of bingo fun. Poor guy was starving on the last bingo day. I offered him some of dh's popcorn and he went to town.

Don't forget Kiki!!!

I thought Andy Carbone was good at cracking jokes during his announcements but Christiaan is the KING. He was a riot!

We spoke to Ian about the Panama Cruise as we're trying to get a spot on the Aug Repo. He said he would love to do the cruise if DCL let's him. Apparently his contract is up for renewal in January so he's not sure where he will be. I'll never forgot Ian jumping around like a mad man with the kids in Studio Sea in a three piece suit. Far more energy than I'll ever have.

Pikey was hilarious at one of the bingo games - a young girl had pinched one of his runners and they were chasing each other. All in good fun.

Keyon was a good side kick to Pikey.

I was also on the 26th of August, wonder. On the same cruise as many of you it sounds!

It was my first DCL cruise and I hadn't heard of either of these guys.....but let me tell you I will remember them always now. We said the entire cruise that Ian was the hardest working guy on the ship...we actually thought maybe he was actually triplets!

When we filled out the comment card we made a point of mentioning him by name and how he made our cruise better.

Unrelated question......what is it with Jersey peopel and DCL? It seemed like half our ship was from Jersey and here in this thread as well. Should I move to Jersey for DCL discounts?

I wasn't on the August 26th cruise, but that question about Jersey people and DCL is oppisite for me there were a few jersey people on my cruise but more chicago and canada people I was shoked to see so many.

New Jersey schools do not start until after the Labor Day holiday so late August is a good vacation time for people in NJ. And late August is also cheaper than the rest of the summer.
