I'am sick to death of

celebrity's. Every time I turn about there is Dr. Phil grinning at me from magazine cover's, or the television. And then we have J-Lo and Ben everywhere. I just don't care about these people enough to want to see them every few minutes! As long as I am complaining I might as well say something about celebrity's hawking their overpriced item's on shopping networks, magazine ad's and infomercials. This really bugs me. I would never buy any celebrity endorsed products. Whew, I feel better now.

I understand what you're saying. I often feel the same way. I think too many of the celebrities and sports stars are held up almost like idols to be worshiped or adored.

Actually, I believe the real super heroes of life are everyday people who serve their fellow man in a myriad of ways in their daily lives -- none of whom will be on the national news or receive millions of dollars or accolades for their service. In my opinion, these unselfish people who display courage, strength, love, care and concern for others are the true heroes and blessings in this life.

I'm with you, Lady M! It's the regular guys/gals who are the heroes! And I would bet they feel more fulfilled, successful, blessed after having put in an honest days work, volunteering, just helping other people out than the richest, most famous celeb on that People Mag cover ever will!

The topic of In-Your-Face Celebs bother me too. This includes J LO, Ben Affleck, The Osbournes, Pam Anderson, Britney, Madonna, Justin Timnerlake, Camerson Diaz, Hilary Duff. Why is Hollywood such a freakin big deal? Why do people care what JLo eats or why do people scream when they see a celeb walking down the street? I'm just not that way.

I understand that actors, singers, perfromers...they all need plublicity, but when fans take it too far and celebs milk it for everything it's "worth", it makes Hollywood so unattractive. Plus, there are the celebs (*cough* Britney Spears) who claim that they are so normal when they JUST are not. Like i care about the stunt her and Madonna pulled at the VMAs.

I like the truly grounded/not self absorbed people like Johnny Depp, Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal, Drew Barrymore, John Cusack, Jennifer Aniston. Some are BIG actors, but do not act like it which is admirable.

If people will stop buying the magazines etc that do this then they will stop doing it.

I don't know why so many Americans are so fascinated with certain celebrities, it's an interesting phenomenon.

I agree with Marie, the real heroes of this country are unsung.

We have nobody to blame but ourselves! We (the people) need to stop buying the magazines and endorsing their products. Unfortunately, I don't see it happening anytime soon. Those magazines suck you in as you are standing in the check out line of the grocery store!

It's the media that can not leave celebrity's alone and we do buy the magazines and watch the programs.It is so overdone. Dr Phil has a good program but the media finds a new "star" and suddenly they are everywhere. They did it with Kathie Lee, Rosie O, Princess Diana, JFk Jr, now Dr Phil, and Ben and Jen.
It's the celebrity infomercials and home shopping shows that really get under my skin. Hey, I'am jealous, I need a product to sell and make a gazillion bucks!
p.s. Will Ben and Jen get married tomorrow? I say yes!

I had respect for Dr Phil til he got on the "diet bandwagon" and unleashed a line of diet products and book. He should of just stuck with the "mind stuff" and left the body/diet stuff to the billion others who are trying to make a buck off of weight loss.

I think it's fun, and it takes away from all the stress and depressing things going on in the world. So if I can read about who's wearing what or who's dating who, I would rather read about that than to be depressed with everything else going on!

I don't blame the celebrities for this. I think that it's the fault of the "devoted" fans and the reporters who stoop to unbelievable lows to get pictures and stories. I've totally quit buying any of the gossip rags and I won't watch the celebrity shows either.

As for Dr Phil, I'm interested in his ideas. If he has a good new idea for getting into shape, I say bring it on!

planogirl there is a special tonight on Dateline with Dr. Phil. I bought his book yesterday and he has some great ideas!!


He wants you to get to the root of the problem.. the rest is common sense. You know his version of common sense,that most people go " DUH why didnt I think of that??"

Im not one to "jump on he bandwagon" at all but I really like this plan!
