I81 NY Points of Interest

We're going to a wedding this weekend near Alexandria Bay. Is there anything worth pulling off I81 in NY to do on our way to the wedding or on our way home? Our kids are 10 & 11 and will be with us.

Syracuse is your best bet - syracuse.com might have some useful information. The Museum of Science and Technology (or the MOST) is good, as is the Rosamond Gifford Zoo. Carousel Mall is the largest mall in the area, too, and you'll go right past it on Route 81.

Cortland doesn't have any headliner attractions, but is a very convenient stop for a variety of food (Denny's, Friendly's, McDonald's, Arby's, Subway, Wendy's, and Taco Bell) immediately off Exit 11.

I'm not sure how many places will be open in the Binghamton area as they are mopping up after the week's flooding.

Thanks for your response! The only thing my DH and DS have ever done in Syracuse is see Gerry play and they've gone to a couple football games.

I'll have to bring my AAA book in case they want to stop. The science museum has big potential. I think the kids would love that!
