I wrote to Disney concerning the Tigger/Monaco family incident

Just a mention about the characters.. Just before my DGD turned 3 we took her to WDW and MANY times the characters weren't able to "see" her and nearly stepped on her or knocked her over.. Fast forward to
Dec. - now 8 yrs. old - and with some characters, the same thing happened..

Many of them have their field of vision SEVERELY restricted so what's to say Tigger wasn't reaching BEHIND his head to correct whatever the kid did and the kid's face happened to get in the way?

Man - some people will do ANYTHING to make a quick buck..

That is my take on it!!!!

I sent a letter to Disney as well.

The father definitely appears to be very 'claim savy' and said all the right things to ensure this becomes a big deal.

By now, I'm sure an attorney has contacted them, the teen is on meds for neck pain, and no doubt he'll need psychiatric counseling for the trauma. I'm betting the rest of the family will, too.

I'm surprised the family hasn't made the hooligan out to
be Tigger's BIGGEST FAN EVER as well to magnify the "pain
and suffering" he is going through. It's not like he was
an average kid who had outgrown Disney characters, but he
walked, ate, and slept Tigger 24/7 so this "attack" by Tigger
is 10 fold what the average person would suffer.

This kid must not have ridden ANY of the rides at Disney, if what Tigger did to him constituted an emergency room visit. You get knocked around ten times worse on some of those rides. This is BS!

Wanted to post this here so others can see it--They have a poll about whether the family is justified in suing for what happened!

Also they have more of the video-Where you can hear the dad apologizing to Tigger for messing with his head and hear him telling his son to leave Tigger alone and you can see Tigger patting the son after!! All that from their video BUT of course they nothing to instigate this!

Its all about easy money for this family. It makes me sick. The son had to go to the ER because of this? Are you friggin kidding me? No, he went to the ER to help build a case against Disney, plain & simple. Worse, Disney will more than likely pay this family....which just encourages others to do the same.

Standing in the lunch line at school is probably worse than the family's own video that I just watched. And, as I've read over and over, the kid was grinning the whole way through.

Best case would be this guy gets nothing and is stuck paying the lawyer and the emergency room bill!

Can you imagine Jr. going back to school next week..so you got your butt kicked by Tigger...:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I started a thread with links to various new agencies for people to send in their comments on this!

Maybe if enough people contact them the family will realize that America can see for themselves exactly what happened and stop this nonsense before it goes any further!

Thanks for the link. The online poll is running 96% against the family. These polls are meaningless because they are easy to fix.

Someone will probably take this on a contingent fee basis. You evaluate contingent fee cases on the basis of two main criteria, (i) solvency of the defendant and (ii) likelyhood of successful outcome. Normally Disney would not want to let this case go to trial but Disney could decide to fight. The case would be in a jurisdiction favorable to Disney and the video may actually hurt the plaintiffs. There is a decent chance that if the case goes to trial, the plaintiffs would get nothing and that may affect whether a decent attorney will take the case on contingent fee.

I was snubbed by her to last year. Maybe we can get a class action lawsuit started lol! All seriousness this is crazy. From the video it appears that the teenager was doing something behind Tigger. You can tell just from the smirk on his face. It also looks like that Tigger started to fall or lose his bounce. I can't see Tigger hurting the boy, the costume is so soft. On our last Trip at Chef Mickey's, Mickey sat on the bench next to me I didn't relize it was that close I went to turn toward him and I bumped my head on his head and he has a hard heard I didn't complain I laughed as DH tried very hard to get a picture but it happened all to fast.

Just e-mailed Guest Relations @ WDW in my support of Tigger. That teenage boy was definitely up to something with "that big smile" on his face the entire time . I hope they don't get too far with the courts if they plan on sueing WDW.
Shame on them .:sad2:

E-mail sent.

I also added that if Disney did not support Tigger (Micheal Fedelem) in this instance it could be viewed as a slap in the face to the other hard-working characters who must put up with similar situations every day.

In an interview with the dad - he said something to the effect of "at first I thought my son had done something to Tigger to provoke it" Well buddy, I think you should have went with your first instinct.

But in the other hand, Tigger has always been a Thug

As my DW pointed out, the Dis legal team should investigate what the family's activities were for the rest of the day BEFORE they saw what the incident LOOKED LIKE on tape.

Maybe they went to Universal Park, and the boy hurt his neck on Hulk. That ride definitely beat on my ears.

The world is not fool proof, but this incident is proof of fools.

I knew it!!! This is all Universal's fault!!!;)

The only difference is, the media would never care if it happened at Universal and we would never have heard about it and there would be no lawsuit.

Better yet, let's explore this possibility....the boys neck wasn't hurt ever. Maybe, just maybe, he was faking it! The horrors.

I used to adjust auto claims and people lied ALL THE TIME about neck injuries, because for the most part, they cannot be proven - but they'll get someone money when they sue for it.
