I would really like....

This above ground pool mess to be done with.

Week 1: DH decided that DS needed a backyard pool, as we are 30 minutes from the nearest community pool, and he needs to practice swimming. So, he bought a 18', 48" deep pool. $500 at Walmart, plus $20 for extra filters--included pump and ground cover, ladder, etc.

Sounds good, right?

Except the backyard slopes. It's even by our house and then down it goes....not too steep, just steep enough that marbles will roll down towards the pond behind the house. :sad2:

So he filled up the pool (6000 gallons of water or something) and discovered that one side is 4" higher than the other....and the pool was leaning very badly after one day. Drain the pool. (Not sure of the cost there, waiting for the water bill. :confused3

Week 2: (last week, right before Debby hit) Dig up the sod and the clay/dirt underneath to level out within 2"...$150 for sod machine and truck rental to move the sod machine. Watched the mud puddle sit for the week.

Week 3: (today) $120 for a shovel, wheelbarrow, and level. Add another $120 for masonary sand, to level out the hole he left in the yard. $30 for a "tamper".

And we now have an almost level section of backyard and a pool waiting to be reassembled. Another week and we may be done. LOL
