I think your chances will be better if you aren't set on a particular resort...as long as you are flexible something will probably be available, most likely at the larger resorts.

You probably wouldn't have a chance at the BWV, BCV or VWL. You might be able to get something at OKW or SSR.

When you call MS to make your reservation, you can ask them to Waitlist you for the booked resort. They won't tell you how many people are ahead of you. Once you are 30 days out, the waitlist is cancelled and you have to call day by day. (I think that's it, we've only waitlisted once and we didn't get it.)

I had booked only one night at BCV for June at 7 months out, and because of flight times, (we don't get into MCO until early evening) I really wished that I had booked a second night, so 3 weeks ago I waitlisted. The extra day came through sometime this past week, so we have a 2 BCV, 3 BWV night stay. We booked a car from the Swan for the day of moving. I know it's not "necessary" but this way we can go buy some fresh fruit, supplies. One reason we're very happy with this split stay is that we have the DDP for the first 2 nights. We have found that we really don't like having a sit down meal restaurant meal every day.
