I wish WDW still had...

You can probably tell by my name that I miss the Skyway. I also miss Mr. Toad and the E-ticket nights - remember those? I did one of those on my graduation trip in 1998 and loved it.

My husband just mentioned the other day that he misses the Adventurer's Club.

As mentioned earlier, I miss spontaneity.

I also miss what seemed to be frequent unexpected magical surprises. Turn the corner or be in the right place at the right time or just simply look around for a bit and there was something that you hadn't expected that exemplified awesome imagineering and was wonderfully entertaining. It still happens but it seems it happens less often nowadays.

Adventurer's Club: DBF never went and I feel bad for him.
Horizons: so much better than a ride that can either make you sick or kill you
Hyper Space Hoopla: SWW just wasn't the same without it
Mr Toad's Wild Ride: Just awesome
The strawberry and cheese platter at Fantasmic

And now with Argentina and Chile combining to Patagonia I'm crossing my fingers that I won't be missing the chimmi-churri steak skewer

E-Ticket Nights
Live music in Tomorrowland Terrace, specifically Michael Iceberg.

Original Main Street bakery
Spectromagic
Old Test Track
Mickey & Minnie houses
Resort/park themed merchandise (it all seems the same now)

/
I already miss the Animal Kingdom parade
I miss being able to wake up Tinker Bell
I miss never getting a chance for DD to meet Silvermist or Bolt
I miss Minnie's house (Mickey too, but we had started a collection of photos of dd in the same spot in Minnie's kitchen year after year)

My parents did the same thing for me, except it was in the living room chair at Minnie's house. I hate that you don't get to continue to do that, as my mom was lucky enough to have pictures ranging from when I was 7 to 18 and loves them (she also did this on the giant ant in the DHS shrunk the audience playground, not something I was happy about)

What else...
-E-ticket nights (way better than EMH)
-the character meal at LTT (they were just so cute in their Colonial outfits)
-Disney Stars and Motor cars Parade (still one of my favorites)
-The variety of the characters at the parks (I remember at MGM I saw Cruella, Esmerelda, Hercules, Eeyore and Snow white all in the same area in the same day)
-Hunchback of Notre Dame show

Definitely the original Journey Into Imagination with Figment. Also always enjoyed Cranium Command.

Fiesta fun center in the contemporary. Loved that place as a kid

I miss Alien Encounter. I'll never forget how terrified I was the first time I was on it.

1971 admission prices :thumbsup2

This is my vote for best answer on this thread :rotfl:

I miss the the days when you could walk into a park w/o all the massive pre-planning we have now. People having to race to their computers at midnight to make their FP+ selections. Of course my family and I are not the most organized people in the world :upsidedow so it all goes against our natural tendencies of procrastination and indecisiveness :lmao:

I would say

Horizons
Original Journey into Imagination
River Country
Swimming in the lake and lagoon(I know its unsafe now, but was fun in the 80's.I can remember jumping off the pool at the Contemporary into Bay Lake)
The old Backlot tour( the 3 hour version)
Skyway
Keelboats
Sea Base Alpha

"buffeterias"!

Consistantly good food option w/o breaking the bank.
I remember one dinner with just my DH and I, after dark in MK. We wandered in to an almost empty Crystal Palace and each got a half of rotisserie chicken, mashed potatoes, veggie, and a roll with butter for $7.95. We got a table for 2 up against the windows overlooking the twinkling lights outside and the beautiful backdrop of the castle! Magical!

Le Cellier in Canada, same year. (1987 or '88) Stumbled upon the "buffeteria in the basement" and had the BEST prime rib dinner for about $12!

We didn't care one bit that we had to push our plastic tray along a stainless steel track and order our food in a fashion similar to a school cafeteria!!! The food was good, the ambiance of the restaurants were amazing and we didn't have to make ADR's 180 days before our trip or even wait for a table when we arrived!

Tapestry of Nations was great. I agree it was an awesome parade. The music still goes around and around in my head.

We also miss E-ride nights. Extra Magic Hours just aren't the same.

But we miss the Hunchback Show most of all. We were fortunate to see it three times. We were going to see it a fourth time and it was when there was a lot of smoke around from wildfires during a drought. They could not perform the show due to pollution regulations. The entire cast came outside the theater and met with people who wanted to come to the show. My daughter was about 10 and she had the best time with the gargoyles.

i miss the stamps you got so you could re-enter the park and only showed under the black light :rotfl2:
