We absolutely love the dining plan but Iam not a dessert fan. I wish there was an option to choose either an appetizer or a dessert. Does anyone feel the same as me?

Lots of people feel the same but it's not going to happen.

Lots of people feel the same way and that's *why* it's not going to happen! :lmao:

Seriously, people are more likely to pass on dessert than on the appetizer, so that's why you have to pay OOP for the latter. More cost-effective from Disney's POV.

I do wish you could do it, though. We would definitely share 1 appetizer and 1 dessert between the two of us every time! (On the other hand, I see a lot of Disney desserts involve bananas, which I love and DH hates, so maybe it's better that I can order my own!)

Because alot of people would do the exact same thing is why Disney will never allow it. Supposedly the reason for doing away with the appetizer was to turn tables over faster. If true, then it would defeat the purpose to allow a couple to choose between appetizer or dessert, because they would do exactly what you suggested--order one of each and share.:rotfl::rotfl: Besides desserts are cheaper and easier to mass produce than appetizers.

It's like beating a dead horse now, so many people want this to happen but it never will.

Most desserts are so much cheaper for the restaurant than appitizers are but they are the same price... so restaurants make more money off of them.

If time were an issue perhaps they could just say, the entire party must pick desserts or appitizers but that would just get people in a tizzy.

I've grown to be ok with the dessert only. I am not a dessert eater usually but I do enjoy bread so the bread works well for an appitizer substitute. There are many times that I have been so full that I don't want to have a huge extravagent dessert so I end up asking for a few scoops of vanilla.

I agree!! My whole family is really not fans of dessert. I would rather a salad or a small soup than a dessert, even after a meal! This is kind of one of the reasons I would never pay for the dining plan because I would feel guilty about skipping or not finishing a dessert if I already paid for it. It's fine for free dining, but forcing myself to eat cake after every meal for 7 days is a bit much.

I get that this will never happen....I just wondered if anyone else felt the way I do. I'm sorry if I ruffled anyones feathers, that was not my intention!
