I WISH Disney Dining had...

I love the idea of a Pixar meal. I'm a little nervous about what would be served on Sully & Mike nights. Would they make Wall E bus tables?

I imagine Pirates would be seafood and rum. I wish you could get the Grey Goose Lemon Citron Slush everywhere and not just France!:cool1:

I love the idea of Pixar meal! I also like the idea of letting you choose either an appetizer or dessert on the regular DDP. Of course if they would bring back having tips included and an appetizer and dessert included w/ TS meals like they had a few years ago that would be fabulous.

:cool1:Pepsi Products!!!:cool1:

Haven't tried Sanaa yet (next week!) but I'd love to see Indian food in Epcot, too.

didnt know if you knew GF, 1900 park faire has breakfast with alice, mad hatter etc. ...my dd dressed as queen of hearts and as soon as she entered the room ( from acorss the room) the mad hatter yelled to alice "look the queen of hearts" alice promptly left the table she was at, rushed over, curtseyed (sp?) and said "Yessssss your majesty!" My 4yrDD loved it!

 I wish the dining plan let you choose whether you want appetizer or dessert.

I'm a much bigger fan of appetizers than dessert. Plus, some restaurants offer better appetizers than dessert and sometimes I'd rather have dessert elsewhere. A funnel cake sounds better than the flan at San Angel Inn.

DEFINITELY!!!

Also, the Pixar character meal is an excellent idea!

it would probably be totally unmanageable, but something like a chef's table (other than V&A) or other medium through which the meal was served in an informational/educational setting. the famz enjoys Garden Grill for the insinuated origin story of the food offerings.

more manageable but MUCH more chaotic (in a GOOD way!!! :duck:) would be an "immersive" experience. either food-art (we've dubbed "fart") create your meal and play with it or an all-out food fight.

just stay away from the yellow snowcones and you'll be fiiiine.

Places to soak your feet every 100 feet. Cm whose only job is to give you libations and a warm/cold cloth on your face every 50 feet. Cm's would could give you pain pills if you looked over 21. Cm's who could drive u around on golf carts if they even thought u looked like you needed it. Cm's who would make you go back to your resort and lie down.:sick:

I wish Disney Dining had.....

Food booths with little "tastes" from different countries ALL THE TIME like they have at F&W...and they could change all the time too!!! A girl can dream...

A few more adults only dining options. No flames please. It would just be nice to have a few more guaranteed quiet and/or romantic spots that weren't as expensive as V&A. Don't get me wrong...LOVE V&A...going in 10 days!!!

More appetizer options at bars/lounges. I could just dine on that for a vacation!!

A decent CS or two at DHS.

I totally agree with ALL your "wishes"!!!

Yes! Yes! Yes! I like having an appetizer. DD likes having dessert. With it this way she gets her dessert and I usually get nothing unless she wants to try something else. We've been so often however, very few things she hasn't tried:rotfl:

I wish sometimes they would even let me have an appetizer instead of a main entree. Would be cheaper for them but they won't do it. I often just buy an appetizer in regular restaurants instead of a meal. More appealing to me.

1) A villains character meal.
2) Tips still included
3) A refillable mug for the parks

1. a Fantasmic Package with 50's Prime Time Cafe.
. . . where would the folks go who wanted a meal without the package?

2. a Pixar Character Meal
. . . princesses get more attention
. . . and, more ressies
. . . mom's would rather sound for their little girl
. . . this has been shown through surveys and attempts at other themes

3. a Princess Dinner Show
. . . too expensive
. . . besides, all three other shows are not sold out

4. a good soul food restaurant
. . . what has this to do with Disney?
. . . they changed Dixie Landings for Political Correctness
. . . don't think this could survive either

5. Tiana's Palace!
. . . not that popular of a princess
. . . she is just-one-of-many
. . . she is definitely not a Cindy or Snow White

 I wish the dining plan let you choose whether you want appetizer or dessert.

Yes! Yes! Yes! I like having an appetizer.

1) Would you be willing to pay the extra charges for DDP?
2) Appy's are far more expensive than desserts.
. . . most appy's cannot be made ahead of time
. . . salads cannot be kept overnight if not eaten
. . . appy's take a lot more kitchen labor
. . . most appy's are made-to-order and not made in bulk
. . . appy's cannot be bought pre-made and bought in bulk like desserts
3) Someone, and not WDW, would have to pay for the extra costs.
4) If you are willing to pay more for DDP, then just pay OOP now.

I'm agreeing with a few things... and I'll add a few more suggestions...

  • Ability to pick either appetizer or dessert with TS meal (if BOTH were once included with the regular dining plan, they could certainly cut one out but still leave the option of which one)
  • Not be so picky with what counts as a snack credit... (Really, a funnel cake is a snack - no, we wouldn't like to use a whole CS credit on it - only other options are to pay OOP or not get it at all... that's stupid)
  • TS in the American Pavillion in Epcot
  • Getting rid of Little Einsteins & JoJo at Hollywood & Vine; replace with Mickey & friends
  • Ability to dine at a TS restaurant in Norway without the princesses (cheaper price, maybe certain days or meal times, maybe in a certain section of Akershus)
  • Mug included in regular DDP (why QS & Deluxe, but not regular?), OR...
  • A point-based dining plan system - 1 pt for a snack, 3 pts for a CS (or maybe a refillable mug), 6 pts for a TS, 10 pts for a Signature TS (or something similar)... then people could really have flexibility. People could pick 8-pt plans, 10-pt plans, 15-pt plans, 20-pt plans, etc. Then someone with 3 days of a 10-pt plan, for example would have 30 pts to split up over those days - use 8 pts one day, 10 pts another, and 12 pts another... this would be the ultimate of flexible dining plans!
(This might also solve the problem of snacks that don't currently count as snack credits... maybe have 1-pt snacks & 2-pt snacks - so MYO treats at Goofy's, funnel cakes, chili cheese or figaro fries in the parks, etc. could be 2-pt snacks.)

1. A Pixar themed character dining experience

2. Adults only dining experiences besides V&A's

I would love to see ...:woohoo:

1) A pirate themed meal..or at least something geared more towards boys.

2) A Villain themed meal...the villains are soooo much fun.

3) Descent coffee. When I come to WDW I bring my own.

4) Include tips again with the DDP.

5) Please stop homogenizing all the food. There is definitely a downward spiral in quality and uniqueness.

I like the point system idea....I think that could work :thumbsup2!

Wow Rusty, you certainly enjoy to naysay. These are my WISHES, and I thought this was the place to share them. But since you have chosen to debate the practicality of my dreams (a wish my heart made ;) ), here is my counter rebuttal...

1. a Fantasmic Package with 50's Prime Time Cafe.
. . . where would the folks go who wanted a meal without the package?

Well Fantasmic does not play every night, right? And on the nights that it does play, the patrons would have to book their meals earlier than most of the people would who do not want the package. Plus whose to say they can't limit the amount of Fantasmic packages they sell? It would just be nice of them to offer more of a choice for this package. I'm not dense though, I realize that the reason they offer it with the restaurants they do, is because they are not nearly as popular.

2. a Pixar Character Meal
. . . princesses get more attention
. . . and, more ressies
. . . mom's would rather sound for their little girl
. . . this has been shown through surveys and attempts at other themes

I don't know what surveys and attempts you are referring to, but I have a very hard time believing that a Pixar meal would not be a TREMENDOUS success. Statistically speaking, there are actually more boys born each year than girls. Not that this even matters, because the Pixar characters for the most part have been beloved by both genders, not to mention the parents. If the princess meals are getting more reservations than the other character meals, than all the more reason to come up with something new!

3. a Princess Dinner Show
. . . too expensive
. . . besides, all three other shows are not sold out

Too expensive? Correct me if I am wrong, but in your previous comment you said that the Princesses get more attention, more ressies and more mom's wanting to treat their little girls. And here you mention that the other three shows are not sold out. Well maybe that is an indication that they need a new POPULAR show! WHATEVER the cost it may take to bring in the most talented cast members to play Cindy, Belle, Aurora, Snow White and others, this show would be a guaranteed success. To get to hear them sing their signature songs, tell stories, do dance numbers with their friends. This could possibly replace CRT as the toughest ticket to get.

4. a good soul food restaurant
. . . what has this to do with Disney?
. . . they changed Dixie Landings for Political Correctness
. . . don't think this could survive either

What does Mediterranean food, Irish food, or California Fusion have to do with Disney? These are all food genres that are represented at either DTD or the Boardwalk. I'm not sure if you were implying that my use of the term soul food was racist, but if you would prefer, we could call it Southern food. The best way to make this concept a success would be to bring in a celebrity chef as Executive to the restaurant. If you want to go authentic soul food, Sylvia Woods is the first person who comes to mind. I think people visiting the World would love the opportunity to partake in the cuisine that has made her Harlem eatery such a success. (http://www.sylviasrestaurant.com/#) If you want to go more upscale, B. Smith might be your choice. (http://www.bsmith.com/restaurant.php). I think this is an underrepresented food genre, that if done right, could be hugely successful, and open people up to GOOD southern cooking.

5. Tiana's Palace!
. . . not that popular of a princess
. . . she is just-one-of-many
. . . she is definitely not a Cindy or Snow White

Oh but you are completely missing the point here! I think this idea, more than any other one I have mentioned is a must-do! When my DH and I took our DD to see The Princess and The Frog, what struck us the most about the movie was not Tiana as a princess, but Tiana as hard worker, who believed that good food brings people together and a good restaurant is good for the community. How wonderful would it be to add Tiana's Palace to POFQ?! It does not necessarily have to be a character meal destination, but a good cajun/creole restaurant and nightspot with some fabulous live jazz music! It seems like a no-brainer to me.

As you can see, I am rather new to the boards. I have not read any of your other posts besides the two you made here, so I am going to choose to believe that you were not flaming me, but instead just trying to make discussion. But I do have to say that I was kind of surprised to read your response to my original post. Like I said, these were wishes. :wizard:

Peace.

I totally agree with you! I'm more of an appetizer person while my husband is definitely a dessert person. Some of the restaurants have such tasty sounding appetizers and not so tasty sounding desserts. I would love to have the option of choosing.

We also much prefer appetizers!!! Desert is meant to be eaten a couple HOURS after a meal, not right after!!!
