I Will NEVER Eat At _______ In WDW Again!!

O'hana was one of our favorites until this past April. They changed the menu and while they are simple changes to me they were huge. They put actual fruit in the salad now and instead of fresh steamed broccoli it is like a horrible birds eye mix with those mini corns and such. I hate that! I felt it cheapened the meal and took away my "green" portion. So now its def not a place I want to run back to..

Chef Mickeys was ok. I went for the character experience and that was great the food was ok. I opt for the peel and eat shrimp so I ate my weight in it but as for the other offerrings..eh. Probably not going back

Columbia Harbor House...clam chowder good but all else I could pass on..

Pinnocchio VH...EW

I am probably going to shock people but Boma is the one for me. This time the big drawback was I arrived early for my ADR and yet until I got up and said something 30 minutes after my ADR there was clearly no plan to sit me. Other than that it is not that it is "bad" I just do not see what people are so impressed about. I even thought 1900 Park Far had as good as food and we got to see Cinderella. Yes the Zebra Domes are great but I am just not that impressed with the food and I actually like exotic food. I thought for the price the main dish selection was average to below average at best. I know this restaurant gets rave reviews but I just didn't see it. After leaving my children even said next time we need to go to Rain Forest Cafe instead of Boma's.

Hollywood & Vine - Just not good at all

Boma and Biergarten - both just because there was not enough that appealed to my family.

San Angel - our dinner was awful, but we had a great waiter

Rainforest Cafe - very average and overpriced food

Mama Melrose's. There was ham in the mac and cheese and it was not listed on the menu! I have a pork allergy but usually don't have an issue ordering food without making a huge fuss, I just read the menu and if have any questions, I ask. Italian and Chinese are always hard due to the use of pork and I knew I couldn't order the meatballs so figured I was safe with boring mac and cheese! NOT! Then the server and chef had the nerve to make out like it was all my fault for not putting the allergy on my ADR. Prior to this incident, I never had and have never had any problems, but ham was not listed on the menu and I didn't think to ask if they added ham to the mac and cheese (my son wouldn't eat it with ham in it either-very picky). Thankfully, I figured it out before I ate more than a bite or two so I didn't get too sick but pretty much ruined the day for me. Lesson learned, now the allergy is on all my ADRs even though that is not a common allergy.

We love Garden Grill - mostly for Chip and Dale though!
And Ohana for breakfast - never had dinner there.

I am glad it is now on all your ADR's. Disney i so accommodating for dietary issues. Now when the chef comes out to see you there may be stuff not on the menu that you can eat. All allergies should be listed. They would have felt so bad if something happened to you(and it could have really ruined you trip)Have a magical time

Ohana- I really really wanted to like this restaurant. But, awful food and awful service left a bad taste in my mouth (literally). The first time we went there we waited close to an hour to be seated and after we were seated our waiter happened to drop off the face of the planet. We were begging other servers for drink refills and for our sides. We also had to ask for our meat to brought over after watching table after table be served. We were so fed up with the meal we paid and left before dessert. We decided to try Ohana one more time because my brother requested it for his birthday. The service was improved since the last time but still subpar. The beef had tons of gristle and there was cartilage in my chicken. The only way I would eat there ever again is if I could order the Bread Pudding to go! It was phenomenal.

Le Cellier- After all the hype I was super excited to try it out. The pretzel bread was stale, they brought out some more and it was still stale. The soup tasted solely of beer. I could taste no other flavor, just beer. My filet wasn't that great and it was cold and the risotto was pasty and crunchy. To top it all off the service was extremely slow (still, not as slow as Ohana ;)).

On a more positive note, some of our favorite places are Sanaa, Via Napoli and Artist Point.

I love this thread. My wife and I are ‘foodies’ and love WDW, so this has been good reading. I am also a numbers-guy and I had a slow day at the office today so I ran the numbers from all posts on all 24 pages and here’s how they breakdown:

- 86 restaurants mentioned

- 442 total "mentions" of places people will not eat at again

- "Worst Top 10"
  1. Chef Mickey’s (44)
  2. Tony’s Town Square (23)
  3. Hollywood & Vine (21)
  4. Crystal Palace (21)
  5. Ohana (18)
  6. Mama Melrose (17)
  7. Whispering Canyon (16)
  8. Coral Reef (14)
  9. San Angel Inn (13)
  10. 50’s Prime Time Café (11)
NOTE: the “Worst Top 10” make up 45% of all "mentions"
I hope WDW executives read this board, great feedback.

I had no idea that this thread would receive so many responses when I started it. I love that you have taken it to the next level by compiling the stats. What is funny to me is that two of the "Worst Top 10" are among the most difficult restaurants to get ADRs for at WDW. Kind of makes you wonder how Disney does it? I would love for someone in an influential position with WDW to see this. It would be nice to see some changes put into place to improve the dining experience!
OT, I am in WNC, where are you?

I was surprised that Mama Melroses didn't Top the list!! It is funny but quite a few of the worst have been favorites of mine , but I may have just hit good days !!!

Western NC as well, close to Hickory. Nice to meet a fellow Tarheel on the disboard. :thumbsup2

I'm sure someone is going to give me the stink eye for this one... by Casey's in MK was essentially a bust for me the first (and last) time we went to WDW. Overpriced for a lukewarm weenie coated in crappy-quality toppings.

But the one that leaves both myself and my boyfriend in sick shivers is the ABC Commissary. We stopped there spontaneously after being over exhausted and starved on our first day in HS, and got the chicken sandwich and a burger of some sort. Both of us left there feeling... eh. It progressively got worse from there as the day went on in our guts. The experience still leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth.

Our worst experiences:

The CS across from the pyramid in Mexico. Plastic neon cheese, super greasy tortilla chips (chips fried properly should not be that greasy), and horrible tasteless beans & rice. Total slop. Never again.

Some pizza counter service place in AK--just awful.

The veggie burgers at most of the CS places in MK are like hockey pucks. Tried them three times before I gave up.

I honestly don't think anywhere in DHS has truly good food. 50s Primetime can be lots of fun, but the meals aren't up to par with the atmosphere. We gave up eating at DHS about three trips ago.

No stink eye from me, same here. It was horrid on the day we went and I had looked forward to it. The hotdogs were not HOT, undercooked for me (I know, in reality, they are fully cooked even cold, but the texture didn't even seem right) The bun was crumbly and dry, wouldn't stay together and the fries were horrible grease balls. We walked by it on our last trip and we all made nausea faces and scurried right on through. Won't go there again.

Didn't try ABC because of other reviews and after yours thank heaven we didn't!

Interestingly, some of the worst experiences mentioned here were good for us as well. We loved 'Ohana. Had good luck on both of the times we ate here. Both times were right at or close to opening. Don't know if that was why. Had great tables, great food and none of the gristly meats other's have had. That is probably luck of the draw and supplier issues. Bad service can ruin a good restaurant, no matter how much you may like the food. We had great service both times.

Oddly, for us Narcoosee's was lack luster. For the food we had, it wasn't top notch. Service was fine, but the food wasn't overwhelmingly wonderful as you'd expect. I know several who found Mama Melrose's delicious and great. Oddly, they both had steak! You just never know. We had a great experience at Boatwright's at POR as well. Great prime rib and meal. Service was stellar! Having worked in a fine dining restaurant, I'm fussy about service, but do try and separate it from the food...it can be difficult to do.

This last trip it was Le Cellier. Had a great meal 2 years ago and we were so looking forward to this time. Big disappointment, poor food and service was terrible. The coffee was better in our resort then at a 2TS restaurant. We will not be returning. The other disappointment was LTT. Food was more like a counter service then a sit down restaurant. Cold and no flavour at all.:confused3

We had lunch at 50's Prime Time last Tuesday, never again! I really wanted to like it, and we both enjoyed the atmosphere and our server, but the food was just disgusting to me. I had the "sampler": the meatloaf was awful, the blob of pot roast was slimy, the mashed potatoes were nothing to write home about. DH had the fried chicken, though, and liked it, but he loves greasy food anyway so that's not saying much. At least we tried it, which we have wanted to do for the past couple of years, but we won't be back. The worst part was that I had heartburn the rest of the afternoon and luckily didn't get any sicker than that.

I did not enjoy 50s prime time either and luckily had dinner there late so my stomach cramps didn't effect my day...got back to the hotel and just wanted to get into bed...
If we ever do go back, I'm getting the Caesar salad...I had the pot roast. Big mistake!

Yep...Casey's was a big disappointment for us too. Cold hot dogs, stale, crumbly buns, and really icky squiggly French fries. I always thought the dogs there looked soooo good, too! Ours definitely looked good, but they tasted awful. We were so sad. We really wanted to like it. :(
