I have never seen any kind of drawings on the sidewalks from chalk or anything else. I think it would probably be frowned upon

At POP last year they had sidewalk chalk at the ME waiting area- There was a huge communal mural- the kids were having a blast and it looked really good for artwork by 2-10 year olds. But Disney supplied the chalk. I agree that I wouldn't do it in the courtyard, around the hotel buildings.
