I was wondering if they still...

You can no longer take things to Guest Services for character autographs. You can bring things and take them to the characters for signatures.

They also do not have the chest in the room, at least on the Fantasy as of last week. We had a table like what's on the Magic and Wonder. I missed that storage space!

OH NO!!! That is a welcomed space when traveling with a teen girl. What category stateroom were you in? We have been in concierge the last 2 times on the Fantasy, so I didn't notice. We are in a 4E this Christmas and will definitely miss the storage.

And you can also pick them up at Guest Services. They usually had them in the rack or out to pick up.
But they don't change them out until the morning. So, if your family likes to look them over at bedtime or before leaving the room for the day, you still have to ask.

I think requesting your host to give you one is hit or miss. We were told yes in March and no in June.

Maybe this depends on the ship? We just got off a 10 night on the Magic and we picked up the next day Navigator every evening after late dining on our way to the adult entertainment.

I was also able to pick up the Navigator for the next day every evening, after late dining, on our 9-night Alaskan cruise.

Interesting. On the Fantasy you had to ask until the day actually turned over.

We were in a 7A (8022)

On the 8/17 Fantasy, we found them there early morning, as we left the adult area anywhere from 12:00-2:00 am, and we only checked a few nights. I didn't look earlier but I would guess they weren't just put out then. Maybe it depends who is doing them on any given cruise?

I was on the Fantasy 8/7/19 and we had the chest.

We had the table on the Fantasy 8/17. :(

They did on the Dream in July. It might have been around second seating, but they did. And if they were not on the rack I just asked for one. There is not always a line.

I think it depends on the stateroom. Some have chests, some have tables. I was in 7650. I prefer the chest, but I know some people prefer the table. It’s funny that they’re not consistent though.

It was always a treasure hunt - and not always a pleasant smelling one - when I had those chests. Every single time I had one in my cabin (so my first 4 cruises as luckily the last 2 I had the table) there was stuff left in them. The first was someone’s stinky socks and underwear. The third there was actually food on plates.

My guess? They were getting ruined by stuff left in them - and tired of shipping stuff left in them and are phasing them out.

No more pretty red pillows :(

Another common “accidentally packed” item. That the people likely claimed was in their cabin when they left when a charge showed up on their card. (NOT EVERYONE WHO ERRONEOUSLY HAD A CHARGE TOOK IT - I am NOT saying that!) OR the people who took them grabbed them from other rooms where the Stateroom Hosts had already propped the doors open to turn the cabins.

That makes sense. Maybe they are slowly rolling out the change? I have had the same room on the Dream and Fantasy before and we had the chest those times. This was the first time on a new ship (at least 10 cruises) I have not had the chest.

Just to clarify about the over the door shoes holders... you can still use them, just not over any doors. Many people zip tie them to hangers and either hang on a hook on the wall or in the closet. I believe some people also bring super strong magnetic hooks to hang them anywhere on the walls but this only works on the Fantasy/Dream. (The Walls in the Wonder/Magic aren’t magnetic.)

No more pretzels available from the pizza place on deck 9. At least not when we were on the Wonder last Dec. We were very sad about that!

Also no more plastic straws (they have the paper ones now.)

And the cups they use on CC were pitiful!
