I don't feel old enough to have a 17 y.o. son but, as of today, I am. I can't believe Justin is 17 today (like how I snuck that in?
)! . And I didn't have him until I was 27.
Then I got to thinking... my mother was only 20 when I was born. When I was 17, she was only 37 (a youngster in my eyes). By the time she was the age I am now, I was 24, I had been out on my own for 4 years and had just gotten married.
By the time she was my age, all the aggravation of my teenage years was over for her, all the worry of my leaving the nest was over for her, and she had the happiness of my being married and off on a good start in the world. She was through worrying about my learning to drive. She was through dealing with my teenage raging hormones. She no longer had to worry about my school grades or how I would deal with peer pressure. My parents had peace and quiet in the house. I'M JEALOUS!!!
But Happy Birthday to Justin.
