We were in MK at opening on Thursday and had a blast. We did so much - thanks to everyone's suggestions! We headed straight to Splash Mtn. and walked on it 2x; then did BTMRR; then everything in Adventureland, the Haunted Mansion, Philharmagic, carousel, tea cups, Peter Pan, Stitch, Buzz, Space Mtn., Splash again, and caught the show in front of the castle! We did stop for lunch at Cosmic Rays. Except for walking in just as another kid was saying "wake up tinkerbell," and one of my kids not feeling so great, and a little rain in the A.M.; It was a great day! Oh - and we topped it off by copiloting the monorail to Chef Mickeys.

Friday we went to AK. BRRR - but fun. We did a lot there, too. I was bummed that the Kimodo dragons and the bats apparently are no shows in the cold, b/c we haven't seen those ever. But we saw Tarzan for the 1st time, rode Dinosaur (mistake - 7 year old hated it); loved the primeval whirl,
lunched at RFC, did TTBAB, Safari ride, train ride to Rafiki's, pictures with Mickey, and went to Ohana's for dinner/light show and fireworks.

We left after breakfast on Sat. Thanks again for all the tips!

Wow! It sure sounds like you had a blast!
We were always at the parks at opening and sure liked getting to ride so many rides and see characters with no lines.
Glad you had a great time!!!

Sounds like you had a great time! I didn't know the komodo and bats didn't come out in the cold either.

What fun! We got to see the anteater at AK on our first trip there. He was getting a bath from the waterhose and scratching his belly. He was sooo cute. I'd never seen an anteater before. They're HUGE!

Atlantasue, What is the show in front of the castle and what time does it occur??

A great time,sounda like you had a magical vacation,welcome back. :flower: :wave2:

We were there this past Thursday too at opening! The weather didn't start out the greatest, but got better as the day went on! Glad you had a great day. :cool1:

Hmm, I did about the same thing.

Thursday morning at Magic Kingdom was great, short lines for everything. I left to go to Extra Magic Hours at MGM Studios that night. It started getting cold that night, so cold that after getting my rides on Twilight Zone and RnRC, I headed out, then as you mentioned friday at Animal Kingdom was frigid cold. We also had lunch at Rainforest.

Small world, eh.

Lucy 6 - I can't remember the exact name - Cinderella's Celebration, or something - it's listed on the Live Entertainment guide that you get at the front gate, and it takes place in front of the castle several times during the day. The one we saw started at 4:30.

Coasterville - It IS a small world! When we were in line at AK my daughter found a stray pair of mittens in her pocket and was ecstatic - would you have ever thought that in sunny Florida! But still- I'm glad the 2 days that I chose were not as crowded, apparently, as many of the others last week.
But we will have to save Blizzard Beach and Kali Rapids for another time...

:earsboy: I really enjoyed hearing about your trip.It sounded like you had a wonderful time........Thanks for the info, can't wait for our trip!
