to Disney in December.... I called yesterday to make sure they would have a crib in our room and asked about changing hotels. They checked four different ones for me and they were ALL booked. Wow. It's gonna be busy!

When in December are you going? It gets busier closer to the holidays. The decorations will be up and it will be gorgeous and well worth the crowds.:)

I must admit I'm a little surprised.

Last week I was noodling around to see how busy things would be in December. I actually found DISCOUNTS for Pop Warner and Mousefest and ALL WDW resorts were wide open for Christmas/New Years week.

We are going the 15th through the 22nd. The cm told me if I wanted to change my ressie to the next week, I could get an upgrade to the contmeporary for a few bucks more a day. Too bad we couldn't do it!

Were you asking about resort availability 15 - 22 December? I just pulled up reservations on disney.go.com and there are 23 resorts with availability......that is not a great showing for WDW this close to the holidays.

Last year the resorts were sold out the Saturday of Pop Warner AND Mousefest by October and room availability was not great for the Holidays by October.

Well - the up side of this is Jim and I will not be subjected to crowded parks for our 9-day stay after Thanksgiving! Yea-Horray-Yippee.

Yep. I had her check POR, POFQ, ASMU Fam Suite, a preferred at CBR and CR. She told me they were all full.

I would call again....or just book online where everything is open at Value Season rates!

Have a fabulous trip.....we will "warm it up for you earlier in the month".

As mouseaholic said, just book online. I'm getting nervous about my choice of DTD hotel for December, so I called last week to reserve room-only at ASMov (as a back-up plan) and was told there was no availability at all. I had just been on the Disney web site and found preferred rooms...so I hung up, got back online and booked the rooms with no problem!

What's up with the reservation number????:confused3

If you found discounts for PopWarner and Mousefest, does that mean the turnout isn't as great as expected? I'm a little slow on understanding this whole reservation thing! :confused3

We're staying the Pop Warner week at the POR, yes...the POR and am not sure what to expect after reading posts here.

First of all, you will POR - it's my favorite Moderate.

BE SURE TO MAKE TIME TO SEE BOB. He is an entertainer in the lounge next to Boatwrights. He is there Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights - 8:30 - midnight. You will laugh more than you can imagine! Trust me.

Last year Pop Warner weekend was our second weekend at WDW....as it will be this year. We had watched the reservatons during the fall to try to guess how busy it would be.

Early in the week immediately after Thanksgiving it was FABULOUS at the parks but it got progressively more busy as the Pop Warner weekend approached.

We had noticed in October that resorts began to sell out...and Saturday of Pop Warner weekend everything was sold out -- hence the busy parks.

Reservations are actually easy to understand....Yield Management...Southwest Airlines is the specialist at this. Southwest would rather have a body in the seat paying a discount vs. and empty seat. There are computer models which calculate when they have to begin to discount in order to have their aircraft (and Disney with it's resorts) full. If they don't have enough reservations...they offer a discount.

To have a discount available during normally busy times simply means their reservations are lagging behind the number that makes Disney happy.

It's nothing for YOU to worry about.....enjoy the smaller crowds.

Don't forget Bob - show is great fun for adults AND families!

Have a wonderful trip!
