My hypertension began when I was pregnant with my youngest DD. She was born 6 1/2 wks early because of it. It took almost 3 months to get it under control. Then I was taken off of the meds for about 4 years. Just about 1 1/2 years ago I was having some problems and recognized it as blood pressure related so I went in and now I take two medications a day. I started monitoring the salt and caffiene and have just recently begun an exercise program. I do need to lose weight but my dr. seems to think that I will still have to be on meds due to the family history. He thinks it is "inherited hypertension". Looks like I might just have to learn to live with it. Since that is the only health problem I have I guess I will just take my pills and enjoy life.
Hope everything works out well for you!

I'm only 29 and do not need to lose any weight. The bp medicine I'm on has helped but I'd prefer not to have to be on it for the rest of my life since I'd like to have children one day.
