Just to add more confusion - different auditions have different "first rounds."
Some first rounds are just movement across the floor - they are checking for basic rhythm and type casting. If you are cut from this round, you are not likely to be selected as a Performer, but are still in consideration for another role within the CP.
Then we have the second round, which some locations use as their first round...
This round has a dance and some animation. If you make it through this round then you are being considered for a Character Role.
The last round varies again based on location. Some keep a few back and video tape them performing the same dance already learned. Others are taught an entirely new (and more complicated dance) and are video taped performing that. Either way, these are considered the strongest dancers and are video taped doing something.
If auditioning in Orlando - there is also a puppeteer round, but typically they do not do puppeteer while on the road.
I've been through all of these different types - the variations are usually based on the size of the audition.
And to add one more level - everyone who attends an audition is being considered for a face role. If they have costuming/cosmo there, those individuals would be fit. If they do not have costuming with them, then they'll usually take a couple extra photos from a couple different angles.
