Okay, so i hear this big bang that wakes me up so I lie there for a minute still half asleep thinking it may have been someone in the next room and then I start to hear more bangs. I then went to look out my window and see fireworks going off towards future world. Okay, remember I am still half asleep, but I see a planet and start to think, maybe fireworks were going off downtown and that is Planet Hollywood I am seeing. But than I realized in my half asleep state that that is the wrong direction and then I notice more planets just floating in the air and then images were being lit up on Spaceship Earth of a Man in Moon gear and the U.S. Flag and several other things I couldn't make out. About this time I realize that this must all be a test for the press event tommorrow night for Mission Space. It was really cool and can't wait to see the whole thing tommorrow night from the balcony here. The planets just floating around were really cool and the fireworks were awsome. It was not illuminations, they were actually going off by Mission Space somewhere. My husband has some pics of the planets and of the flag on SE, I will post when I get home!

A Piggy-Bank?
A Ding-Dang?

I think I've seen Ellen's Energy Adventure one too many times!

When we stayed at CBR last week, I heard fireworks around 10:30-10:45, wondered where they were from. Thursday night I think.

We were at WDW over the Christmas/New Year's holiday in 2001/2002 and experienced the late night rehearsal for Epcot's New Year's Eve fireworks spectacular a couple nights before the actual event. They ran through the whole fireworks/Illuminations show long after the park closed (right around midnight) to make sure they had everything timed right and coordinated. Very cool!

You lucky duck! I love those kinds of Disney surprises! I can't wait to see the pictures.

We were staying at the BC in May '97 and received a note under our door that they were testing some new stuff for Illuminations and we were invited to attend the preview. It was at 5:00 the next morning. My parents went, buy my DD & I decided to pass.

Your experience sounds extra cool. Can't wait to see pics!!

I know someone who was married at Cindy's Castle and there was a notice sent to everyone's room at the Poly, WL, Contemporary and Grand Floridian that fireworks would be going off at midnight and to not be alarmed when they did.

I just love when you get a "Disney Surprise" like that!!! Glad to hear you were smart enough to get up and look so that you caught the show.

I am staying at BWV and I missed the ones at 2:30 (my wife heard them) I only heard (and saw) the ones at 4:30!!!

Looks as tho I checked out a day too early - I was staying at BWV but had to end my trip and head home to Michigan by way of a few places on the east coast.

Kick it up a notch!.... We were up until about 3:30 and then went back to bed. I had just about fallen asleep when i heard the ones at 4:30 start, but I didn't get up to see them, I was tired.
