Ok I know it is against the rules but I am not a big fan of the pools at FW (but I just love the rest of the resort). My kids and I need a slide. My favorite pool is at WL. One trip I got this crazy idea to take the golf cart all the way over to WL and use their pool. Of course we got caught but only because I decided to drive the golf cart right up to the resort. My wife and kids were freaked and a CM told us that we couldn't park there. We ended up going back a little ways along the trail, parking the cart, and walking up to the resort. We pulled off the rest of the hop without issue. I have been told that Disney checks ID's now to prevent this sort of thing but we have been twice a year for the last 4-5 years and the only place that checked was Stormalong Bay.

We checked in to FW Cabins on 01.18.04. At checkin, they stamped right on our reservation form NO POOLHOPPING and had us sign the form. I suspect they are starting to crack down on this resort wide.

WE WERE THERE 12/28-1/6. WE GOT OUR CARD STAMPED THAT WAY TOO. BUT WE WENT TO WL TO SWIM ANYWAY NOBODY CHECKS OR SAYS ANYTHING. I'VE HEARD THE BEACH AND YACHT CLUD HAS THE BEST POOL. SLIDES RIVER AND POOL.

Stormalong Bay is the best resort pool on property and I would never even try to pool hop there (way too risky). My family and I have stayed at YBC (just for the pool) and enjoyed it very much. I don't recall any of the other resorts stamping "No Poolhopping" on my paperwork but maybe I just didn't pay attention. Is this a FW thing or is every resort doing that now? Here is the way I figure it...if Disney has to stamp this on your paperwork that is pretty sad and an admission of guilt on their part. Instead of trying to enforce a policy that isn't enforceable upgrade the pool or bring back a new and improved River Country. I have long thought that Disney needs another waterpark equivalent to Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach. River County should have been upgraded not closed! Here is my idea...a large shallow entry pool surrounded by 20 kickbutt slides (similar in spirit to Jib Jammer, Humunga Kowabunga, and slides like that). A wavepool would be awesome but probably wouldn't fit given the space. Until then I'll keep on sayin'...I want to pool hop!

I'm going to lock this thread now, as the pool hopping rule has been made clear already - no pool hopping is allowed. It is ok to express your feelings about this rule, but this is obviously getting out of hand. Please remember that the DIS Posting Guidelines state that no personal attacks are allowed.

If you wish to debate the pool hopping topic, please feel free to visit the Debate Board and start a thread there.
