I want to go back!!

Right there with you! That looks like you had a great site too.

Were they offering bounceback offers on your last day? I think that's the terminology ...

I didn't get one when I was there in January. I've never had a bounceback offer in all the trips I've made.

No offers for us.
I've also wondered if they ever offer discounts for the Fort (perhaps I asked this before and don't remember). I am assuming they don't as it seems they have no issue filling the sites on a pretty regular basis. I did ask my TA if the dining plan was ever offered for "free" (when it was being offered) and she said she couldn't remember ever hearing that it was. Again, I assume they don't have to entice anyone to come to the Fort. :)

They typically haven't offered bounce-backs to/for the Fort campsites. They have no problems filling sites.

In the past there was typically a general public discount for August & September every year of 10-15% but "discounted sites are limited". A few people get it but hard on weekends and in mid/late September.

Dining Plan is never offered for campsites since they can allow up to 10 people per site. Even the high rack rates that we pay for campsites doesn't cover that many people. (Free Dining Plan Offer go/no-go in a WDW resort is the decision of its General Manager).

Bottom line is be prepared to pay rack rates for whatever length of stay you want.

Yep. That's what we figured...and that's what we'll do, because we will certainly be back. Right now, I'm thinking Jan/Feb of 2024. I'm hoping by that time, things might be back closer to what they were pre-Covid, that time frame might be back to slightly lower crowds, and maybe Hoop-Dee-Doo will be up and running again! Not holding my breath, but if any of those were to happen by then, it would be a plus :)

I do know that if you stay in a cabin you could get a bounce-back as our daughter has had in the past stays. Didn't figure campsites would though but was hoping maybe a discount for a future cruise :D

Yes that is true for the cabins. You can get (or in the past have been) offered bounce-back there. And just because they offer them for the cabins don't think that they do/may/might offer them for the campsites also. It doesn't work that way.

Technically in the computer system, the resort called "The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort" is completely separate from the resort called "The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort". The cabins are technically no different than Port Orleans or Coronado Springs or Caribbean Beach. Here's an example:

In the reservation early check-in for the campsites, I think you still can (or used to be able to) specify a friend/neighbor you wanted to camp nearby (or them you). In the past it was a manual request to manage on the individual reservations. Now it's an automated request since both campsites are at the same resort. But some folks, on occasion, have some friends/family in a cabin and themselves in a campsite and want to be as close as possible to each other. I believe that STILL can't be automated - it's a manual process only. You might as well be asking the computer for a campsite closest to Port Orleans. :rotfl2:

@morrik5, if your DD stays at the cabins, she has the benefit of more frequent general public discounts available on those. Nearly every discount offer that applies to most resorts includes the Cabins. And hey, I don't know if DCL had dropped some prices recently to fill the boats but if so, Disney will sprinkle some pixie dust on those low rates :tink:now or sooner (!) to get those rates back up to higher levels. I'm not a cruiser so I am more clueless than normal. :confused3 But that's why I told @Paulaparm to grit her teeth and be prepared to pay rack rate for campsites. It is what it is.

PS - also the Cabins are generally included in Florida Resident discounts and other types that aren't available on the campsites. Back when my DD was in the Disney College Program, she got me a Cast Member discount on a FW campsite (40% off). She had to camp with us (technically be with us at check-in to show her WDW ID to get the discount applied) which was great but all that was available was a TENT site. Which is fine for my popup but I was ready to save 40% on a Premium site! (that was before the Premium Meadow category came along).

This upcoming trip we are renting a trailer for our DD and her family vs a cabin. We were just thinking that in the future we might want to try something different although I'm not a big cruise lover. I've only been on a Hawaiin cruise and was in bed seasick for 3 days but that was the Pacific vs the Atlantic.
