I want to book a year out, need info on special offers

We want to go in may of next year and i wanted to book a year in advance. My question is, if i book direct through disney, i know i dont get the spring special pricing.

Here is what i need to know

A.) Will disney price match their spring special rates if i book the room now at the higher price?
B.) I have a head start because im a disney chase member, will that help?

We wanted to book through disney because of the low deposit, we are considering booking through Davids, it would save us $200 overall to stay at the animal kingdom, but they need the money upfront, leaving us to wait and save for the airfare tickets. If you had this option, which would you run with?

Last question, my wifes parents are thinking of coming, if i book two rooms, is it double the deposit through disney?

Disney doesn't price match so if you find a lower rate through orbitz or any other third party booking agent, Disney will not match that price.

If you book a room through Disney for next year and a special is announced that includes your dates - if your resort and room category are included and there is availability you can call to have it applied to your reservation. If it is an offer that gives Disney Chase Visa cardholders an earlier booking date you will be able to book starting on those dates.

When booking 2 rooms and each room is a separate reservation you will need to pay 2 deposits.

I have no experience with David's so I'll leave that to others or you can ask on the DVC board.

The mousesavers site has information on when Disney has historically released special offers. They tend to follow the same patterns, so it may help you predict when a special may be released.

Not all room categories and all resorts are available for every discount.

If you want something specific I always say be willing to pay full price for it. If you are willing to change things around when discounts are announced its very easy to call and do so.

I've never done David's so can't answer that.

Personally, this far out, I would never pay in full, upfront for rooms. As far as I know, David's is non-refundable as well. I would choose the rooms you want and book directly with Disney. If you book a package (a room with tickets and/or dining), your deposit will be $200 per room, with the balance due 45 days prior to check-in. If you book room-only, you will put down one night's cost + tax, per room with balance due at check-in. When discounts are released, if your resort and room category are included, you can call have the discount applied. If the resort and room category aren't included, you can always change your rooms to something that's included in the discount to save money.

Here is what I do.... Book what I want and start paying monthly. As specials are coming out, I watch and hope that my resort is included, if not consider changing if the money is substantial enough. I have always been able to get the discount applied without switching resorts. All you have to do is call and if there are rooms available the discount will be added.

Pretty certain if there are two rooms then it would be two deposits.

If you book a package with your Disney Visa you get 0% for 6 months, so you could make the deposit and pay 0% for it and earn points prior to your trip.

bump, kinda getting nervous about booking without special offers. this year we want to stay at a super nice resort so AK or CBR are our two choices.

you can always call and ask if there is a special offer. sometimes nothing is offered but there might be something available. we get free dining at POFQ now that we have booked it every year the last 6 years.keep getting it as a bounce back even if you book now, you will be locked in before the price change (as they have been going up every year) which is always a good thing.

I booked the room (room-only, not a package!) we wanted about 7 months in advance - no room discounts available at the time. Wrote down the "Typical" pattern of when Disney releases discounts on rooms from the Mousesavers site in my calendar. As those typical release dates approached - I "paid attention" to the discounts coming out.

Once announced - I called RIGHT AWAY - and they changed my cost to the lower rate. Now, for me, I then later bought an annual pass - which was an even bigger discount - and I called and they added that discount.

Now - here's the catch - if your room type isn't still available at the discounted rate - you might not be able to get the discounted rate. For example - I'm in a Cars Family Suite for my next trip. I could get the Passholders discount in the Cars Suite - but had I been booked in a Nemo Suite - those were gone. So you do need to call right away when the discounts are announced. Typically - you might wait on the phone for awhile the day discounts are being announced for that very reason.

Basically - you need to willing to pay full price for whatever you book - you can't count on the discounts.

As for David's - those have to be paid in full up front - and renting points is a discount over rack rates - but sometimes not terribly different than the price you might get with a deep room discount from Disney. IMO, if you really want a villa and don't want to pay rack rate - use David's, another rental service (one now has a refund policy), or an individual (use the rent/trade boards) and do that at 11 months out. You MIGHT get a good rate on a villa late with a Disney discount - but that I definitely would not count on. Go to the other forum for more on this.

Because room-only reservations can be canceled 5 days in advance - I've done the following strategy:

1) Booked an "acceptable" choice via Disney about a year in advance.
2) Waited to see if I could rent points for villa at a cheap rate at the DVC villa I wanted.
3) Did get the villa I wanted at the price point I wanted.
4) Canceled the Disney room I had booked via Disney.

Now - while that strategy has worked for me - it's also failed - meaning that I wasn't able to get a villa for the time I wanted later and I had to keep the regular room I had booked.

Thank you. Basically, the AKL Is 940 and CBR is about 1100 if i used this springs rates before they sold out. What it really comes down to is the resort vs resort.
