I have one photo of girls in front of Lady (especially taken for a very good friend who lurves Lady ) and some others which I am keeping for the next post. My picture taking increases as the trip goes on.

I heart ME and to be honest my family would not travel from the airport any other way.

50 section at pop is my fav!! Isle of Skye I've always wanted to visit there - I've read several books, and when there is mention of the Isle of Skye - its always with awe - and a bit of fey too I believe!

It's has taken me 40 years to get to the point where I can,on occassion, actually express myself in confrontational circumstance....but I have to admit I still do more than my fair share of bottleing up and exploding or bursting into tears or both

Congrats for standing up for YOUR daughters right to sit in the seat you PAID for. Normaly I am a complete push over and don't like to say no at ALL...unless it involves my little chickens. Then you'd better back up because this hen is going to plow the roof off the chicken coop! You don't mess w/ my chicks!!!

On a trip to England, once (hello....11 hour flight!), there were no window seats available so I picked an aisle seat from the middle row (you know, where they put FIVE seats together....been in the middle of those before...never again!). When I boarded there was a lady in my seat and her husband next to her. The two seats on the other side were occupied. The MIDDLE seat was empty. I told the lady, "I'm sorry, but it looks as though you are in my seat."

"No, we always book the aisle seat," she tells me.

I check my ticket and boarding pass again and the numbers of the seat. "No, this is my seat (showing her the ticket)."

"No, we ALWAYS book the aisle seat," she repeats, as if what I had just shown her was a blank piece of paper.

"Well, apparently NOT, because you didn't book THIS aisle seat. I did. Please let me in my seat."

I know she thought I was going to just say, "Oh, you just go ahead." She made big production with lots of huffing and puffing and frustrated noises, but she DID move. Hey, lady, you should've booked earlier, then you would HAVE the aisle seat. You snooze, you lose.

What a chancer!!!! I have to admit I would have been tempted to ask for her boarding card and then involve the cabin crew, suggesting in front of the woman that she was having difficulty reading her boarding card and couldn't understand that your letter in the alphabet came after hers and therefore it was your seat that was situated on the aisle and not hers. What would you rather be considered as, thick as two short planks or incredibly selfish and rude

I can't believe people complain if you don't give up the seat that you paid for and planned enough in advance to reserve crazy and rude. Good for you for not giving in (and same for the other posters who had similar situations)!

I know guys, a thousand apologies. I had a weekend of socializing and had to catch up with the housework. Also Becci has had a history project to work on and I didn't think it would be good parenting practice to pap her off the computer so I could work on my own wee project

Okay excuse session over...I promise I will post an update tomorrow. Becci's to hand the project in by Thursday and she said it'll be finished tonight

Sorry for the delay Folks, now where were we…..
The McDonald Clan went to bed on their first nights to the constant chant of “When will I see Mickey Mummy?”. We woken up at 4:30am with the self same chant. What’s a gal to do? Well we tried to get Madam to coorey in and go back to sleep but as she was still on UK time that just wasn’t going to happen. We put the lovely Stacy on to entertain the troops but even her perky powers were useless. Finally we all got up, got dressed, left our room at 06:40am as the sun was thinking about rising and made our way to the front door of Pop.

Mummy and Daddy are barely able to stand with the excitement because we know where we’re off to!!!
We then hopped in a cab and made our way to The Contemporary….ah yes, you all know where we’re going with this one. Ellajeansmom you rumbled us, but the girls hadn’t yet…we were off to have breakfast at Chef Mickeys. Like all parents I know my kids inside out and was aware that Niamh would not be content until she met Mickey and the gang and to be fair, with people constantly asking her “Are you going to meet Mickey?”, she was under the impression that this was the whole purpose of the trip. We arrived at Chef Mickey’s early and sat and admired the view of the newly risen sun and the beautiful surroundings. I had planned on not telling the girls it was a character breakfast until they spotted Mickey but Niamh had started the chant up again and I had to tell them to shut her up. We were seated promptly and it wasn’t long before the Main Mouse made his appearance. The girls were in 7th heaven (yes including the incredibly sophisticated 13 year old who is usually so laid back and “cool” I could strangle her). Becci spent her time squealing “Niamh, Niamh, look over there it’s…..”, I absolutely love the fact that she let go of her image worries and got totally into it. The food here was yummy, the service was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I think this may become a traditional first day thing for us.

After our hunger for food and characters was sated we headed back to Pop for a day at the pool. We spent our morning at the small pool in the 50’s section which is great but with exhaustion starting to catch up on Niamh we had a few trips and skint knees so we decided it was nap time-. We later went to the main pool which is excellent (sorry I don’t have any pics I was a bit jet lagged myself that day) and then Becci and I decided to give Petals pool bar a whirl. Now whilst planning this trip I happened upon a thread that showed pics of alcoholic drinks available in WDW and I felt it my duty to have one every day of my trip in order that I could report my finding to my Jakey friends here ( JAKEY noun: alchoholic, indigent or homeless person prone to over-imbibe budget-priced beverages with high alcoholic content Example: See that auld jakey?. He' jist papped (just put) his empty Superlager can oantae (on to) the verandah (balcony)!!) . So that said….
Day 1’s Jakey’s guide to the World report - I had an Orange Creamsicle and Becci had the non alcoholic version, very yummy, a bit like orange ice-cream with a wee kick. Donny had a Yeung Ling beer which he enjoyed immensely and partook of on various occasions throughout the trip. Would recommend Petals and their delightful concoctions to any of you who enjoy a wee swalley (drink).

We then headed over to DTD where we enjoyed our first (and by no means last) meal at WPE…what can I say but delish. Niamh slept through the meal so Donny, being the kindly father that he is, helped her out by eating her dinner too (so self sacrificing my hubby). Again I apologise for the lack of pics. We were all knackered so headed back to the room by way of bell service where Donny arranged for the bags to be picked up at 9am and transferred to OKW. Then we got into our jimjams, cooried into our beds and dreamt of the joys that were awaiting us the next day. Ahhh OKW, Magic Kingdom, Casey’s, Tony’s…..

Yeah Niamh got to see Mickey!! What a great surprise. You're girls do look like they're enjoying themselves at Chef Mickey's. Taking it easy, hanging at the pool and DTD sounds like a great way to get use to the time difference. On with the jakey report!
