I want a tattoo

Same thing of course. Gender does not matter. Why disfigure a healthy body with a tattoo? In addition, many companies (such as Disney) have policies that prohibit visible tattoos. Their reasoning is that tattoos are unprofessional and demonstrate very poor judgement. :wave2:

The reason that I have found for Disney's concern about visible tattoos is that they are not considered to be in the company's best interests. So it seems to me that you are making another leap to claim that they are unprofessional and demonstrate very poor judgement.

The main reason companies frown upon tattoos is because of people like you. However very soon, you will be in the minority and it will not matter anymore.

Didn't read all the posts as they seemed to be getting a little crazy but I did come back to see if OP got her tattoo and she did. pjstevens I love your Pooh bear! Enjoy your new tattoo! Don't forget to keep sunscreen on it so it doesn't fade.

Gina,

Thank you for checking back and for the compliments on Pooh. Unfortunately, I don't get a lot of sunshine, but will definately make sure he's covered to protect him.

I do not consider a tattoo a disfigurement, but a work of art, and just because someone has a tattoo does not make them unhealthy!! Are you serious, or maybe you need to go and get a tattoo so you can get more attention!!! :wave2:

No, Disney specifically says that tattoos are unprofessional and demonstrate poor judgement:

"Good Judgment and Stage Presence
As with all of your duties and responsibilities as a Walt Disney World®; Cast Member, you are expected to demonstrate professionalism and good judgment at all times related to your appearance. For this reason, if you are ever in doubt about the appropriateness of your appearance, please keep in mind that anything that could be considered distracting or not in the best interest of our Disney show will not be permitted.

Body Alteration or Modification
Intentional body alteration or modification for the purpose of achieving a visible, physical effect that disfigures, deforms or similarly detracts from a professional image is prohibited. Examples include, but are not limited to, visible tattoos, brands, body piercing (other than traditional ear piercing for women), tongue piercing or splitting, tooth filing, earlobe expansion, and acquiring visible, disfiguring skin implants.

Methods to conceal an unacceptable piercing or tattoo, such as using a bandage, are not permitted. For tattoo coverage, opaque makeup will be permitted if it completely conceals the tattoo. Spacers or retainers are not permitted in any visible body piercing while working. Jewelry worn in non-visible piercings that may pose a safety risk because of costume design and/or job responsibilities will not be permitted." :wave2:

Zmsksirt- (and anyone else who dislikes tattoos)

I just have a question- Why in the world does it matter to you what other people do with their body? Yes, you may not like tattoos but does it really effect you what others do? You choose not to have a tattoo, and that is fine, FOR YOU, it is your body. I however choose to have a tattoo and body piercings and that is fine for ME, it is my body. So I would just like to know why you think you have a say in what others do with their body.

I dislike tatoos on men and women. I just think they are gross. But no, they do not affect my life in any way. But does that mean I cannot say I don't like them? I don't think so.

Nice try... but no where in what you quoted does it say that "tattoos demonstrate poor judgement".

Yes, you have every right to state that you dislike tattoos. However several posters (not implying you) have implied that people who have tattoos have poor judgment, are trampy, suffer from low self esteem or are depressed. I think calling people names because of something they believe in is carrying a person’s dislike for something a little too far. Maybe my post did not come across right. I guess what I am trying to say is, if someone does not like something, it should be said in a respectful way and not try to bash people for how they feel about something.
