I took the plunge! Welcome Reservation

I just officially purchased DVC PVB direct from Disney this afternoon!!! So excited. The call literally took 10 minutes after all my research here, with DVC and elsewhere. Still some paperwork to come in the mail, but I should have my membership number tomorrow!

My guide noted they will help me make my initial "welcome reservation" as I'm past my 11 month window for the marathon weekend. I have faith they can get me in at the Polynesian, but am I pushing it to wait to my 7 month mark to try for a standard view BWV? I know those are hard even at 11 mo, I just wondered how much influence the "welcome reservation" had.

You won't get BWV Standard View for marathon weekend and even your guide lacks those powers. Standard is long gone for marathon, and Disney don't own a large chunk of that resort like they do Poly.
