I think we should postpone our gathering

This saturday the 20th, we are supposed to have a gathering at my mom's house with my sister/BIL/DN and myself/DH/kids.

My sweet little 17 month old niece has the croup and has been feeling miserable for days.

Now my sister who is in her 2nd trimester, thinks she has the flu. Temp of 102, chills, cough, aches, exhaustion, etc...

Also, if it is the flu, her DH and DD are sure to be next, though I hope not for a 17 month old.

They'd be traveling from CT to MA.

I think if it is the flu or even if it isn't, we should postone and not put anyone else in our family at risk. Especially my DD11 with asthma.

It's only wednesday, but I think even if she's feeling better by friday night she still may contagious if she's coughing/sneezing.

Please send some pixie dust their way to Connecticut - they could use it for sure.

Thanks everybody.

Sending prayers and pixie dust. I would postpone, also, It's just not worth the risk of getting everyone else sick. I'm sure everyone will understand.

Good Luck

That's too bad! I agree you should postpone also. Who wants to travel while they are sick anyway?

Pixie Dust to your family! :D

Sending PD around that it doesn't get passed along within the family. I don't blame you for postponing either, it isn't worth more people getting sick.

I would want to postpone too.

Why don't you change it to a New Year's celebration instead?

It's awful to be sick for the holidays - that's usually me, though - I'm getting ready.

I would postpone, no question.

All of our relatives have already been informed that we will not be spending the holidays together if anyone has symptoms of the flu.
The flu has just been awful this year and we don't want to take any chances.

The most important thing is to keep everyone healthy.

Thanks everyone - we might have to make it after New Years if we don't do it this saturday.

My sister is seeing her doctor today and complaining about a possible sinus infection as well :(

We had the virus/bronchitis/ear infection sweep through our house @ Thanksgiving. (dd & I got tested for the flu, it was negative)

My inlaws understood it was for their own good.

IF anyone in my family is ill for our planned holiday, we won't stay, drop the gifts off & meet w/ them later.

This virus/flu season has been horrible.

JUST check out my 1st tag & you'll understand.

Judy

A truck load of pixie dust - and a definite postponement! The flu is so very serious this year - no one should expose themselves if they can possibly avoid it..

Hope everyone gets well soon!
