I think we ate at every character meal.. TRIP REPORT w/pics! FINISHED!!!!!!!

Isn't it funny that in 2009, Disney is still selling the "perfect family" as a mom, dad, son, and daughter?

I can see why they do it... but you are right. Does EVERY pic have to be like that?

On a side note when we were there in October we saw another family being followed around with cameras in AK. We were on the TriceraTop spin. and the family was on as well. They must of rode like 3-4 times in a row with cameras taping. And I think on some of Disney's park pages they are on there.... ummmm I wonder how you get picked for this?

Me too.

My parents and I are a family like yours.

It would be fun to be picked even if I'm 26 hehehe

We are still a Disney family even if I'm older ;)

Love your photos...your daughter is beautiful....more so than Cinderella.

A few years ago, we paid to have a Disney photographer for an hour to take photos of us. We had them done at the GF, and there is a small entourage that is with them, so it could have been that. We could have had them go anywhere with us. It was worth the money, we were there with 2 other families and just split the cost....I want to say it was $300 for the hour, which included all the proofs.

We leave in 4 more days for my youngest son's first visit and I am just popping out the seams!!!! Keep your report coming.

When Travel Channel was looking for people to tape for their shows - they advertised on the disboards!! And I think two families did get picked! (I sure dont remember their names - one was a Disney Dad - he had 2 sons and a wife, they stayed at Animal Kingdom, they talked about their touring styles. The other mom had 2 little kids, her dh, and maybe her extended family? They stayed at Pop and she talked about baby swap passes, and her touring plans...)

still searching for a link! (but its been a couple of years - maybe 4!)

Wow here's what a casting post looks like:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1826272

and I do think you had to have a trip planned - that they would pay for 2 days maybe? and you were at their disposal for filming, if i remember the kids had a hard time, and the one mom was surprised that they did so little during the filming!

Thanks for watching!!!! Its kinda hard to hear all the conversation because it was quite loud in there.

I'm not an expert... but by reading these boards i've gained so much great info. While reading everyones opinions, you have to keep in mind that thats all they are OPINIONS. You have passionate people that will love or hate the same thing. Your personal experience might be better or worse. :confused3

I think that I would pick Crystal Palace. It all depends what you are looking for. Besides CRT, i believe CP is the only character dining in MK. So if you want to stay in the park, CP is the way to go..... although CM is just a short monorail ride (or walk) away. Food wise I think CP might be a little better. But I only have dinner to compare. We didn't get a chance to talk to Mickey, Pluto, Minnie, and Goofy at the parks, so it was nice to see and get pictures with them. Honestly though I don't think you can go wrong with either place. If you have any other specific questions let me know!!!!!:) :) :)

We didn't do it on this trip... We were there for lunch in October. Cinderella is DD favorite, so she loved it! The food was good too. Just be ready to pay the price for it. LOL

That drives my family crazy because my father passed away from cancer when my sisters and I were 16, 14, and 11. We went to Disney that first Christmas because we just couldn't stand to be home (1994 when they still had the Christmas parade with Regis actually filmed during Christmas.) They were walking around looking for families to feature during the little segments and mentioned to us that they were looking for a more 'traditional' family. My mom was sooooo annoyed!

BTW - LOVING the trip report!!

2010 seems like so far away... its next year. I told my DW we wouldn't be going back till next year. But we have to goto Orlando in the fall, so I can see a day or 2 at Disney. She really wants to see it decorated for Christmas.

Love the mad hatter he is funny. We only have Akersus planned now I am re-thinking.

Well in my next report I'll write about Akersus... That was our next character meal. We had breakfast there.:thumbsup2

OK..... We came home 1 1/2 weeks ago and I'm already forgetting some things. I can't believe I didn't think of this before.

When we arrived at CSR on Sunday, we took a little walk to check everything out. Well Juliana kept saying "HI' and waving to the garbage cans. Melody & I were like huh???? Then we realized that on our 2 previous trips Juliana ran into the talking garbage can. (i can't remember his name) The first time was March 08 in front of the Conservation Station in AK. Also in October in a store in MK. Juliana was the only kid around- the garbage can and her had a 10 minute conversation. Here's a pic from October.

So on Monday in MK before the parade, we saw him again and Juliana got a kick out seeing the talking garbage can. So for the rest of the week she would say hi and wave to garbage cans at CSR and at every park. There were a few people that thought Juliana was saying HI to them... but she was really saying Hi to garbage cans!:lmao: I'm sure there were some people out there thinking we had a 'strange' kid.:rotfl2:

OK time to talk about Thursday!!!!! :)

Today was our Epcot day. We had a 9:05 ressie at Akersus Princess Breakfast. So we were up early catching the bus to head over there. (Did I already mention that we loved the busses?) We were headed to Norway and stopped to take a few pics along the way.

DSC04514.jpg

I must say it was a beautiful morning. It was a much warmer start than the last 3 days. We got to Akersus and checked in about 8:50. There were quite a few families waiting to get in. We were called and we got to see Belle right away. They took some pictures of Juliana and Belle (and they brought us the picture 1/2 way through our meal). Here's one we took.

DSC04517.jpg

We were seated and our waitress came to say hi and take our drink order. She explained how you had to go up to the buffet for some items and the eggs, sausage, bacon, and potatoes were brought to the table. Just as the waitress left here comes Aurora.

DSC04519.jpg

We took our pictures. Just as we stood up to goto the buffet, our hot food came out. We went anyways to see what else there was in the buffet- fruit, bagels, breads, cinnamon rolls, muffins, plus more. Me and Melody both got a cinnamon roll and fruit. I also grabbed a muffin. We went back to the table and starting eating.
While we were eating, we got to see the other princesses. Mulan was first and Juliana didn't want to take a picture with her. She was scared. I picked her up and took the pic. After Mulan we saw Jasmine and Snow White back to back, all within 10 minutes. That was good because we didn't have to keep stopping Juliana from eating.

The food was good- not bad, not great. One thing I liked were the cheesy potatoes. I asked our waitress for more. The muffin was really good. I actually went up later and got another muffin. Once again I feel it is hard to mess up breakfast. Just make sure you are prepared to pay the $30 for breakfast. We used a TS off our dining plan for this meal. We to this breakfast for obvious reasons... to see the princesses. We got up to leave and Juliana decided to pose.

DSC04530.jpg

It was 10 o'clock which was pretty good considering. I think this was our shortest character meal. From entering to leaving it took 50 minutes.
We walked over to The Land get FP's for Soarin. Neither Melody or I have rode it before. Last time we didn't do Epcot and last March there were no FP's left and over 2 hour wait. Got the FP then we went on Living With The Land (never did this either). It was pretty cool showing different growing techniques and the enormous fruit that they grow. After this we stopped at the Kidcot Fun Stop. Juliana did a little coloring.

DSC04535.jpg

We still had time to kill before going on Soarin. We went to see Nemo. There was hardly a wait maybe 5 minutes. Juliana has never sat through the whole Finding Nemo movie but she remembered the ride from last year and knows the characters. After Nemo stopped by to check out the fish and to do Turtle Talk w/ Crush.

DSC04541.jpg

We get into the theater and there was a lot of people. All the kids were sitting in the front and the parents were on the benches. I asked Juliana if she wanted to sit in front by herself and she said yes. I was kinda shocked but I said 'Ok i'll get you after' and moved back about 10 feet. Still near her and able to see her.

DSC04542.jpg

Last time we saw this,(3/08) Juliana didn't like it. We had to take her out of the show. This time she loved it! She was so into the show and listening attentively to Crush. It was really cute.

When the show was over we headed back to The Land to ride Soarin. We got rite on. It was really cool, although at the end in the night scene, I felt a little dizzy. Once we both rode it was 12:30. LUNCH TIME!
We ate at Sunshine Seasons. We never ate here before... what a selection! I ended up having sweet & sour chicken, curry chicken, rice, and veggies. It was really good. I think Mel had the Ham on Foccacia. She liked it as well. Juliana had good 'ol PB&J. One cool part of Sunshine Seasons is the bakery. There were so many choices. On the DDP, once again, dessert is included so I got the chocolate mousse cake and Melody got the key lime pie. Both desserts were awesome. It was a great lunch.

After lunch we rode a few more rides including Mission:Space and Spaceship Earth. Spaceship Earth was interesting. We loved the pictures they took and how they put them on the screen in the 'car' we were riding in. Juliana loved seeing all the stars when you get to the top. We checked out Figment then had a little snack. Juliana's first Mickey Bar!!!!!!!!!! (Whatever you do.. don't read the nutritional info on the wrapper)

The crowds were light and the weather was gorgeous. It was around 77 degrees. By this time it was 3:45 and we were going to head to the world showcase.
To Be Continued..........

Woo hoo, you're back with another installment :cool1:

All those princess photos are so precious! Juliana is such a happy shining little girl isnt' she?! :cloud9:

Did you enjoy the food at the breakfast? Is it served like at Ohana?
