I think my test results are being held for ransom...

I am at my wit's end. I called the lab on MOnday and they said the dr would have my results either Monday or Tuesday. I called yesterday and got the dr's receptionist who said "I will have to check with the nurse to see if they are in." NEVER heard back. I guess I will just have to call yet AGAIN. I have called them 4 times in a week trying to get an answer and she never knows anything! Just keeps saying CALL BACK.

A friend told me one time, when I was anxiously waiting on some test results, that her Dr. told her if anything was seriously wrong they would get back to you immediately. Maybe that is the case this time.

I called again.
She said "They didn't send them, I will have to pull them up on the computer...but the dr. won't give you the results over the phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I said "My appt. isn't until Jan. 6, if I need to see a nephrologist, I'm not waiting that long!!!!"

"I'll talk to him and see what he says."

Can I cry now? All I need to know is was there abnormal protein in my urine or not...JUST TELL ME and I can get on with my life.

Sorry to hear they are giving you the run around. My mom had some lumps in her breast a few years ago and none of the nurses would talk to her, they kept saying "You HAVE to talk to the Dr., per his instructions" Well, of course this flipped her out, but it turns out he wanted to give her the good news himself, since she has been seeing him for so long and he knows her. So maybe that is all it is Good luck

my results yet. And he doesn't know me that well...not enough to want to give me "good news" at least.
