I think my Molly might need another surgery Update post 35

The day before I left for the Podcast cruise trip, Molly decided to jump off one of the steps on the back porch and injured her right hind leg. I had hoped she had only sprained it. But she is still not putting significant weight on it. She blew out her ACL 2 1/2 years ago and had surgery to repair it. I can't remember which leg it was last time. I had really thought it was longer ago than that. But then we remembered that was they year from HE Double Hockey Sticks. My cancer, her knee and then I broke my shoulder.

We have an appointment with the same vet next Tuesday. Doggie specialists are as hard to get appointments with as human ones. I am guessing she need surgery again.

Thanks for all the well wishes. I will let you know what the vet says. Of course the timing is really rotten. High school graduation for my oldest niece and the DD of a good friend, parties, youngest niece's spring musical and who knows what else will pop up. And I have to find a way to make a barrier to stop her from doing this again.

Isn't she a Bichon? I swear that they think they're bigger than they really are. I think you posted her pic. once...the only reason I remember that is because I have a Bichon too.

Just got back from the vet. Molly will have surgery tomorrow on her right ACL. There appears to be some other damage to the knee as well, but the dr said they could take care of all of that at once. We can bring her home on Thursday. Then 6 fun weeks of keeping her quiet. And on a diet.

Bummer Kim! The bill and the crate-rest afterward are never fun.

Our beagle tore both his acls over a 2 year period just running. The vet told us some breeds and dogs are just more prone to do it and there was really not much you could do to prevent it. Ironically, our daughter tore both her acls playing soccer during her junior and senior years. After all that surgery and pt, she decided to major in physical therapy so something positive came out of it!

Hey Kim, sorry to hear this. I know you were worried about Molly when on Vacation. This sucks for both Molly and you.
