I think I'm going to Cancel Spirit of Aloha, but...

before I do. How long is it? I have concerns that my four-year-old, who has trouble sitting still, won't last through it anyway. I really don't want to spend $165 for my family of four, if the smallest one is whining to leave, the whole time.

I know the reviews of the show are sometimes so-so, anyway. This is our arrival day. Perhaps my family would be happier having a nice "welcome to Disney meal" at Kona.

Sigh. Why are dining questions so obsessive for me? When I was a kid, my parents just threw us in the car for our Disney trips without a thought to planning (or so my mother says)!

Thanks,
Jackie

I would definitely choose something else. I hate to say that about anything we have done at Disney, but the show was not very fast paced. It lasted about 2hrs from my recollection. It was way too long for us as three adults, let alone children. I saw many youngsters getting antsy. We booked it out of there before the show even officially finished.

The meal was just so-so and the show wasn't much better. We stuck around to see the fire guy or we would have left much, much sooner. He was fantastic by the way! If the whole show had been him we would have been happy!

Sorry for a review that is not so positive, but I would hate to see you spend your money on this. I think it is definitely great for some people, but not for anyone with a short attention span.

Thanks for your honesty! That is EXACTLY what I am afraid of. I don't think it is the best choice for my 4 and 7 year olds who will have just traveled 975 miles by car.

I'm going to cancel and try to catch the lobby torch lighting ceremony instead!

No problem, i'm glad I could help! My travel agent, who is usually a go for anything, kind of insinuated to us it was a mistake. We like to try things for ourselves before making a decision of whether it is for us. With young kids though, the situation would have been much different.

I think catching the torch lighting ceremony is a fabulous idea. The dinner show is just too expensive for what you get. I think your children would much prefer a character meal or something like Ohana instead. They are much more interactive, tasty, and more importantly...short!
