We just returned from our trip to the World. Something changed on this trip though.I went on all the usual rides with the kids 10 and 14 and this time after all the fast rides I kinda felt a little green. Not Alien Green but tapped out dying green! I would say it was a fluke but this summer I went deepsea fishing as I have done many times and yep GREEN!!!! Whats happening I cant be to old for Space Mountain I did not see the sign next to the you must be this tall that said you are to old! AGHHHHHH!

It sounds lke you are talking"yuk" green,,not "Mickey ears" green,,is that right ??

Thankfully, Big Thunder was more than enough for my two. We didn't even discuss space mountain or everest.....

I know what you mean. I will ride Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, a few times each, but Expedition Everest is now down to once a day. The spinning side of Mission Space is now out of the question unless I use one of those little bags. The last time I got off it, and I mean the LAST time, I was sweating bullets. I am now reduced to the non-spinning side.

Yep. You're getting old. Same thing happened to me. First it was the teacups. Then Mission Space. Then Expedition Everest. And, now, I even have issues with the Rockin' Rollercoaster. I never used to have any problems with dizziness. But, now I do. But, I press through it. If you don't, then you're just an old geezer.

Yep , both DW and I (young 50's) have come to the realization that the dark extreme thrill rides and the like are no longer enjoyable for us. But there is so much to offer at WDW we aren't really that bummed out.

Wow! I hate to hear this! :scared1: I don't ever want to be too old to ride the thrill rides.:sad2: I just had a birthday two weeks ago and it was a big one(61), but I plan to be on all the rides in 12 days. :woohoo: Hope I don't "discover" it's all over for me!!:lmao:

I'll be 64 is a few weeks and I still ride them My wife has never liked them but since she recently had back surgery she can't now. I'm pushing her in a WC in a couple of weeks thru the parks when she's too tired to walk. I will go on rides she can't and she'll shop. I got two cup holders for the WC so I can carry my beer with me! :drinking1

I don't think it's the years. I've got a few on you and I'm still ok, at least for now. That could change tomorrow though.

You might try the Transderm Scop patches. They are by prescription only and one will last 3 days. That last part of Test Track where you are outside... whew! Forget the Teacups.

We went on a glacier cruise out of Seward, Alaska and the area in Resurrection Bay at the south end of the peninsula was very rough. The waves were breaking over the bow and hitting the pilot house windows on the second floor. I made it through that trip just fine with the patch. :thumbsup2

I don't know if it's an age thing. When I was younger, my best friend and I would ride all the rides at the county fair and at least twice during the frenzy, I would always throw up. I never enjoyed the rides because they (literally) made me sick. I was just young, stupid, and gave into peer pressure. I also got car sick very easily even though and I grew up in (flat) FL. Now that I live in the mountains of TN, it's worse. DH rarely drives because he knows if he does, I get sick. I will ride some of the rides while at Disney, but not all of them. Even the ones that I do ride, it's usually just once for me, but I'll let the kids ride as often as they wish. I threw up 2 different times on the teacups as a teenager so it's definitely on the "no-no" list for me.

Don't listen to them. It's not age. My gran daughter just turned 22. I can't wait to ride them all. The bigger and faster the coaster the more excited I get. :woohoo:

I agree with ya about those tea cups! I cant even watch them! And for who ever invented the sit and spin they should be shot I would not even alow one in the house when the kids were younger!

I'm a health care professional and sadly, this is a bit of getting older and a bit of use it or lose it. The parts in your ear that control balance don't adjust as well or fast as we age. They also tend to do a better job at things they are used to doing. I race sports cars. It's kind of like being on space mountain for 45 minutes but you get to have control. After being out of the car during the off season (Oct-Apr here in the midwest), the first few times back in the car in the spring will make my head feel funny. After a weekend or so and I'm back to being fine. :yay:
Now, some people just don't tolerate the motion, regardless of age. My wife is like that and she doesn't enjoy the race car AT ALL. :worship:
If you really want to enjoy the thrill rides without getting sick, there are plenty of motion sickness meds OTC. The Scopalamine mentioned is also a good prescription med. Just be sure to talk to your doc about potential side effects or existing eye problems. If you don't want to take meds, you can "train" you ears to tolerate the motion. Takes some time and looks silly, but it works. I used to get motion sick fairly easy. Since racing cars, I can do things now without problems that would have had me sick for 2 days.
