I had a hysterectomy last Thursday (the 10th). It was done laproscopically (however that's spelled...), and it has really been a lot easier and less painful than I expected. I got my staples out yesterday, and that was the first trip out of the house since getting home from the hospital. Stopped at Michael's on the way home, was there less than 10 mins. And went up and down the stairs in my two-story house several times.
and then... well, I did just a FEW weight training exercises for my arms... just one 5lb weight, and only 5 reps 3 times each arm, about 4-5 different exercises. I've been feeling like such a slug sitting around all the last week. It was no problem at the time, but today I'm back to taking Advil and sitting around doing nothing.
I'm a big stupid idiot, and I'm whining. A great combination.

I would not be lifting weights though. I had a D & C on Monday due to a missed miscarriage and my discharge instructions were no heavy lifting or strenuous exercise for 2 weeks....I would imagine a hysterectomy would have similar limitations, if not more. I know I feel like resuming normal activities but I am determined not to overdo it and have a set back.....it is tough though since I have a 2 yr old who does not understand why mommy cannot pick her up
